Eligibility Criteria:
Qualification & Experience:
Assistant Professor (Clinical and Non-Clinical):
PG Degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the concerned speciality from institutions recognized by MCI/NMC
Assistant Professor (Super Speciality):
PG Degree (DNB/DrNB/DM/MCh) in the concerned super speciality from institutions recognized by MCI/NMC
The candidate should possess the prescribed academic qualification as on the date of notification (01/01/2026)
Candidates applying for Clinical and Non-Clinical posts must have completed one year of Senior Residency from recognized institute after completion of the required qualification
Senior Residency is not required for super specialities
Candidates who have completed DNB from institutions not recognized by NMC must have completed one additional year of Senior Residency
Essential Requirements
AP Medical Council Registration Certificate is mandatory
Only Local Candidates of Andhra Pradesh are eligible to apply
Candidates who studied from 4th Class to 10th Class in the State of Andhra Pradesh are considered as local
Candidates who migrated to any part of AP from the State of Telangana within a period of 3 years from 2nd June 2014 are also eligible
Desirable
Candidates already working as Assistant Professors under the Director of Medical Education are not eligible
No contract weightage marks will be awarded to Doctors working regularly
No contract weightage marks will be awarded to Doctors who rendered contract service before their PG qualification
Experience
One year Senior Residency completion from recognized institute is mandatory for Clinical and Non-Clinical posts (after PG completion)
Contract service experience will be awarded weightage marks as per the rules
Age Limit:
Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: 42 years
No person shall be eligible if less than 18 years or more than 42 years old
Age Relaxation
SC, ST, BC and EWS candidates: 5 years relaxation
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PBD): 10 years of relaxation
Ex-servicemen: Shall be allowed to deduct from age a period of 3 years in addition to the length of service rendered in the armed forces
After making the deductions, the age should not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for the post
Age relaxation for Ex-Servicemen is applicable for those released from the Armed Forces other than by dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency
