Qualification & Experience:

• Forester-I:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in any Discipline from a recognized University or equivalent.
• Forest Guard:
  • Minimum HS (10+2) or equivalent Exam passed.

Age Limit:

• Age limit of 18 to 40 years as on 01-01-2026.
• Relaxation of age for SC/ST is 5 years & ОВС/МОВC is 3 years as per Govt. rules.

Written Examination/Interview:

• The examination stage will be as follows.
  • Physical Test comprising 26 K.M. walking to be covered within 4 hours for Male and 16 K.M. within 4 hours for Female, followed by medical examination for both posts, Forester-I and Forest Guard.
  • Written Test for 3 (three) hours’ duration containing 100 marks for both the posts Forester-l and Forest Guard.
  • All qualified candidates in the written examination are required to appear for a VivaVoce Test containing 20 marks.
• The written examination will be objective type multiple choice of answer.
• There will be no negative marking for any wrong answer.

Syllabus for Written Examination:

• Forester-I:
  • General English,
  • General Knowledge with special emphasis on the BTC area and Assam,
  • Logistical Reasoning and Aptitude and
  • Arithmetic of the Higher Secondary standard
• Forest Guard:
  • General English,
  • General Knowledge with special emphasis on the BTC area and Assam,
  • Logistical Reasoning and Aptitude and
  • Arithmetic of the HSLC standard.

• Physical Fitness:
  • Physical Fitness Test comprising 26 Kms for males and 16 Kms for females of walking to be covered within 4 hours, followed by a medical examination, will also be conducted for both.
• Medical Standards:
  • Candidates must not have squint eyes and should possess High colour vision for Forester-I/Forest Guard posts.
  • The distant vision should be 6/6 for at least one eye and not poorer than 6/9 for the other without correction. Near vision should be normal for Forester-l/Forest Guard posts.
