Eligibility Criteria:

Qualification & Experience:

  • Jr. Overman, T&S Gr-C:
    • Diploma in Mining Engineering of 03 years duration or Degree in Mining Engineering or other equivalent qualifications approved in that behalf by the Central Government from any recognized Institute.
    • Valid Overman Competency Certificate (Un-Restricted) issued by Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS) under Coal Mines Regulation 2017 for working in both Open Cast (OC) & Under Ground (UG) Mines or any other certificate in Mining which entitles to work as Overman as per Coal Mines Regulation 2017 for working in both OC & UG Mines.
    • Valid First Aid Certificate.
    • Valid Gas Testing Certificate.
  • Mining Sirdar, T&S Gr-C:
    • Senior Secondary school examination or intermediate examination (10+2) or equivalent Examination from any recognized Board of Examination, OR Diploma in Mining Engineering of 03 years duration or Degree in Mining Engineering or other equivalent qualifications approved in that behalf by the Central Government from any recognized Institute.
    • Valid Mining Sirdarship Certificate of Competency (Un-Restricted) from DGMS under Coal Mines Regulation 2017 for working in both Open Cast (OC) & Under Ground (UG) Mines or any other certificate of Competency in Mining which entitle the applicant to work as Mining Sirdar as per Coal Mines Regulation 2017 for working in both OC & UG Mines.
    • Valid First Aid Certificate.
    • Valid Gas Testing Certificate.
  • Surveyor, T&S Gr-B:
    • Senior Secondary school examination or intermediate examination (10+2) or equivalent Examination from any recognized Board of Examination OR Diploma in Mining/Mine Surveying Engineering of 03 years duration or Degree in Mining/Mine Surveying Engineering or other equivalent qualifications approved in that behalf by the Central Government from any recognized Institute.
    • Valid Survey Certificate of Competency (Un-Restricted) granted by Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS) as per Coal Mines Regulation 2017 for working in both Open Cast (OC) & Under Ground (UG) Mines.
  • Translator (Tr.) OL Clerical Gr. III:
    • B.A. or equivalent with Hindi & English.
    • Govt. Diploma Holder in Hindi Translation preferred.
  • Technician (Pathology) Tr. T&S Gr-C:
    • Diploma in Pathology from an Institute recognized by the Government.

Age Limit:

  • Minimum Age: 18 years as on 06/04/2026.
  • Maximum Age: 30 years as on 06/04/2026 for General (UR) & EWS category candidates.
  • The Cut-Off date for determining the age limit criteria will be the last date of receipt of the application, i.e. 06/Apr/2026.
  • The Actual upper Age Limit of the applicant (except Departmental candidates) on the crucial date, i.e. 06/Apr/2026, shall not exceed 56 years.
  • There will be no age bar for Departmental candidates, i.e. any employee of CIL & its subsidiary companies having the requisite qualification.
  • Age Relaxation:
    • UR / EWS: No relaxation
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Central List: 03 years
    • SC / ST: 05 years
    • Ex-Servicemen (ESM): Actual period of service rendered in defence services + 3 years
    • Departmental Candidates (all employees of CIL & its subsidiary companies): No upper age limit
    • Persons with Disabilities (Only for Translator OL and Technician Pathology): By 10 years for General (UR) candidates, By 13 years for OBC-NCL candidates, By 15 years for SC/ST candidates

Application Fee:

  • General (UR) / OBC (Creamy Layer & Non-Creamy Layer) / EWS candidates: Rs. 1,000/- plus applicable GST – Rs. 180/- totalling Rs. 1,180/- (Non-Refundable).
  • Exempted Categories: SC / ST / PwBD / ESM / Female candidates / Employees of Coal India Limited and its Subsidiaries are exempted from payment of application fee.
  • Application fee can be paid through online mode only, i.e. Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking, etc. There will be no other mode of payment of the application fee.
  • Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Candidates are therefore advised to verify their eligibility conditions before applying.

Selection Process:

  • The Selection methodology will comprise of Computer Based Test (CBT) only. No personal interview will be held.
  • Eligible Candidates, as declared by them, will be provisionally called for Computer Based Test (CBT) based on their declaration regarding their eligibility, such as age, educational/technical qualification, Valid Statutory Certificate, etc., as laid down in this notification/advertisement.
  • The CBT will comprise of objective type questions with multiple choice of answers, and there will be no negative marking for wrong answers. The instructions will be Bilingual (English/Hindi).
  • The CBT will consist of two sections, i.e. “A” & “B”. Section “A” will comprise questions specific to General Awareness/Aptitude and will comprise 20 questions of “One” mark each. Section “B” of the test paper will comprise questions relating to Technical knowledge and will comprise 80 questions of “One” mark each, with a total of 100 marks.
  • Qualifying marks (CBT): General/EWS candidates – 45 marks (i.e. 45% of 100); OBC(NCL) candidates – 40 Marks (i.e. 40% of 100); SC/ST candidates – 35 marks (35% of 100).
  • Based on the merit order of marks secured by the candidates in CBT, the shortlisted qualified candidates in the ratio of 1:3 will be called for document verification.
  • In case of a tie of marks obtained in the CBT, it will be resolved based on Date of Birth (elder one being the first) and thereafter Name alphabetically.
  • Successful shortlisted candidates will be notified to appear for scrutiny of their testimonials through the website of MCL. Candidates shall have to appear along with all original certificates/documents & photocopies thereof as per the eligibility criteria notified in this advertisement.
  • Those who are working in Govt./Semi Govt./Autonomous Bodies/PSUs/CIL & Subsidiaries, etc. must have to produce a “No Objection Certificate” from their employer at the time of documents/certificates verification.
  • After verification of documents/certificates, the ‘Provisional Select List’ of successful candidates will be published on the official website of MCL (https://mahanadicoal.in).
  • Finally, provisionally selected candidates will be issued an offer of appointment based on their position in the merit list and with due consideration of the reservation policy of Govt of India for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD/EWS/ESM. They have to undergo an Initial Medical Examination (IME) by the company’s own doctors & their findings thereon will be final. Those who are found UNFIT will be disqualified for employment.
  • The validity of the merit panel will be for 01 year or as per the extant Govt. guidelines.
  • The exact schedule of CBT will be displayed on the MCL website (https://mahanadicoal.in) in due course.
