Eligibility Criteria:
Qualification & Experience:
Master’s Degree in Geology / Applied Geology with 55% or more marks from any university established under a Central or State Act in India, or any institution declared a Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.
OR Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering with 55% or more marks from any recognised university/institution.
Basic Computer Knowledge as prescribed in Gujarat Civil Services Classification, Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
Adequate knowledge of Gujarati, Hindi or both.

The selection for GSSSB Laghu Bhustarshashtri (Junior Geologist) 2026 will be conducted through a single-stage competitive examination in MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) format using CBRT/OMR (Computer-Based Response Test / Optical Mark Recognition) method, followed by document verification:
Part-A: 90 Questions – 90 Marks (Reasoning & Data Interpretation: 30 marks, Quantitative Aptitude: 30 marks, Constitution of India: 10 marks, Current Affairs: 10 marks, Comprehension – Gujarati & English: 10 marks)
Part-B: 120 Questions – 120 Marks (Technical Subject related to Geology)
