IOCL Bongaigaon is hiring apprentices across four disciplines:

Code 101 – Trade Apprentice: Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant)

• Qualification: B.Sc. (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry) — 3-year course
• Training Duration: 12 months

Code 103 – Trade Apprentice (Boiler)

• Qualification: B.Sc. (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry) — 3-year course
• Training Duration: 24 months

Code 104 – Technician Apprentice (Chemical)

• Qualification: 3-year Diploma in Chemical Engineering / Petrochemical Engineering / Chemical Technology / Refinery & Petrochemical Engineering
• Training Duration: 12 months

Code 107 – Technician Apprentice (Instrumentation)

• Qualification: 3-year Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering / Instrumentation & Electronics / Instrumentation & Control Engineering / Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
• Training Duration: 12 months

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

• Minimum 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree/diploma (45% for SC/ST and PwBD candidates)
• Course must be a regular full-time program from a recognised University/Board
• Candidates with part-time, correspondence, or distance education qualifications are not eligible
• Candidates with higher qualifications, such as B.E., B.Tech, MBA, CA, or MCA, are not eligible

Age Limit (as on 28 February 2026):

• Minimum: 18 years
• Maximum: 24 years (General/EWS)
• SC/ST: 5 years upper age relaxation
• OBC (NCL): 3 years upper age relaxation
• PwBD: 10 years upper age relaxation

Other Key Conditions:

• Candidates must not have more than 5 years passed since acquiring the prescribed qualification
• Engineering Graduates/Diploma holders with 1 or more years of job experience after qualification are not eligible
• Candidates applying for more than one trade/discipline will be summarily rejected
• B.Sc. candidates can apply for only one of Code 101 or Code 103

Reservation Details:

Seats are reserved as per the Government of India guidelines:

• UR (Unreserved)
• EWS (Economically Weaker Section)
• SC (Scheduled Caste)
• ST (Scheduled Tribe)
• OBC (NCL)
• PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disability) — applicable for Code 107 only

Selection Process:

There is no written test. Selection is based entirely on:

1. Merit — percentage of marks in the qualifying examination (aggregate of all years/semesters)
2. Tie-breaking — senior by age; if still tied, higher marks in Matriculation (Class X)
3. Preference to candidates applying for an apprenticeship for the first time

• Stipend: As per the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973 and Corporation guidelines
• PPE: Safety shoes and helmet provided for all trade codes (returnable)

• Leave: 32 days general leave + 12 days casual leave per year

Step I – Register & Apply on NAPS/NATS Portal

• For Code 101 & 103 (B.Sc. candidates): Register on the NAPS portal at https://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. Search for IOCL Bongaigaon Refinery opportunities and apply.
• For Code 104 & 107 (Diploma candidates): Register on the NATS portal at https://nats.education.gov.in. Apply for the IOCL Bongaigaon advertisement from your dashboard. Establishment IDs:

Step II – Fill Microsoft Form

After completing Step I, candidates MUST also fill in the additional details form available at www.iocl.com. Both steps are mandatory.

Candidates shortlisted for document verification must bring originals plus self-attested photocopies of:

• 10th Marksheet (proof of date of birth)
• All semester/year-wise marksheets of Graduation/Diploma
• Degree/Diploma Certificate
• CGPA to percentage conversion certificate (if applicable)
• Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD) in the prescribed format
• NATS/NAPS portal registration printout
• Affidavit (Annexure-A) as per the prescribed format
• Any one valid Photo ID (Aadhaar / PAN / Voter ID / Passport / Driving License)
