Selection Process:

The selection process varies slightly by post:

For Personal Assistant (Stenographer Grade-III)

  1. Stage 1 – Stenography Proficiency Test: Dictation at 80 words per minute (WPM) for 5 minutes, followed by transcription within 45 minutes on a computer
  2. Stage 2 – Written Examination: Objective-type written test (200 marks, 100 questions, 2 hours). Candidates shortlisted from Stage 1 in a 1:3 ratio appear for this
  3. Stage 3 – Document Verification

For Librarian & Upper Division Clerk (UDC)

  1. Stage 1 – Written Examination: Objective-type MCQ test (200 marks, 100 questions, 2 hours)
  2. Stage 2 – Skill Test: 50 marks. Candidates must score a minimum of 33% marks to qualify
  3. Stage 3 – Document Verification

Key Point: The written exam acts as a screening stage. The board shortlists candidates in a 1:3 ratio (3 candidates per vacancy) for the skill test / stenography test stage.
