OR Must be working/have worked as Public Prosecutor or Government Advocate for not less than 3 years as on 30th April 2026 (Advocate service period included).
Ministerial Staff of High Court of Bombay / Subordinate Courts / Offices of Government Pleaders / Legal Assistant and above in Legal Section of Law & Judiciary Department, MantralayaDegree in LawMinimum 3 years of service as on 30th April 2026 after obtaining Degree in Law.

Age Limit:

The minimum age is 21 years and maximum age varies by candidate category (35 years for UR Advocates, 40 years for Reserved Advocates; 45 years for UR Ministerial Staff, 50 years for Reserved Ministerial Staff) as on 30th April 2026. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates as per Maharashtra Government rules. SEBC candidates are eligible for age relaxation as per the Hon’ble High Court order dated 19 December 2019 and 13 March 2026. Economically weaker section candidates who do not fall in SEBC are not eligible for any benefits/relaxation as per High Court order dated 19 December 2019 and 13 March 2026.

Selection Process:

The selection process for MPSC Civil Judge Junior Division & Judicial Magistrate First Class Recruitment 2026 consists of 3 (three) successive stages — Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Interview/Personality Test. Candidates who qualify the Preliminary Examination will be called for the Main Examination. Candidates qualifying the Main Examination will be called for the Interview/Personality Test. The final merit list will be prepared based on combined performance in the Main Examination and Interview. Candidates who qualify the Preliminary Examination will be intimated about the Main Examination date separately by the Commission.

Stage 2 – Main Examination:

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of Main Examination results will be called for the Interview/Personality Test. Final selection will be based on combined marks of Main Examination and Interview.
