- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India (certificate of eligibility required)
Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a Graduate Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent. Candidates awaiting final results of the prescribed qualification are NOT eligible to apply.

Medical Standard
The prescribed medical standard is A-2, requiring distant vision 6/9, 6/9 (without glasses) and near vision Sn 0.6, 0.6 (without glasses), along with normal colour vision, binocular vision, night vision, and myopic vision. Candidates who have undergone LASIK or any other corrective eye surgery are not eligible for this post.

Selection Process:
Selection for the post of Section Controller involves the following stages:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT): Single stage, 120 minutes, 100 questions, with negative marking of 1/3 mark per wrong answer
- Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): Shortlisting to the extent of 8 times the vacancies; candidates must secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each test battery to qualify; no negative marking
- Document Verification (DV): Shortlisting at a 1:1 ratio of vacancies, based on 70% weightage to CBT and 30% weightage to CBAT
