NF Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2026: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has released the official notification for the engagement of 6777 Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961, for the training session 2025-2026 & 2026-2027.

Eligible ITI-qualified candidates can submit their online applications from 20 July 2026 through the official website of Northeast Frontier Railway.

This recruitment offers apprenticeship opportunities in various trades across divisions and workshops located in Assam, Bihar and West Bengal.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have:

• Passed Class 10 (Matriculation) with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
• Possess an NCVT/SCVT ITI Certificate in the relevant trade.

For Medical Laboratory Technician

Candidates should have:

• 10th Pass
• 12th (Science) with Physics, Chemistry & Biology
• Minimum 50% marks

Age Limit

As of 19 August 2026

• Minimum Age: 15 Years
• Maximum Age: 24 Years

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST: 5 Years
• OBC: 3 Years
• PwBD: 10 Years
• Ex-Servicemen: As per Government Rules

Application Fee

Selection Process

Selection will be based on:

1. Merit List
2. Document Verification
3. Medical Examination

Merit Calculation

Merit will be prepared using the average percentage of:

• Matriculation Marks
• ITI Marks

For Medical Laboratory Technician posts:

• 10th Marks
• 12th Science Marks

No written examination or interview will be conducted.

Stipend

Selected apprentices will receive a stipend in accordance with the Apprentices Act.

Current minimum stipend:

• ₹9,600 per month

Higher-year apprentices will receive an increased stipend according to applicable rules.

How to Apply:

Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply online by following the steps below:

1. Visit the official website of Northeast Frontier Railway at https://nfr.indianrailways.gov.in.
2. Go to General Info → Departments → Personnel → Act Apprentice Notification.
3. Click on the “Apply Online” link.
4. Register yourself using a valid mobile number and email ID.
5. Log in with your registration credentials.
6. Fill in the online application form with your personal, educational, and ITI details carefully.
7. Select your preferred Unit, Department, and Trade in the order of preference. Only one application is allowed per candidate.
8. Upload the required scanned documents, including:
   • Recent passport-size photograph
   • Signature
   • Class 10 Mark Sheet & Certificate
   • ITI Mark Sheet
   • NCVT/SCVT Trade Certificate
   • Class 12 Mark Sheet (for Medical Laboratory Technician posts only)
   • Caste/EWS/PwBD/Ex-Serviceman certificates (if applicable)
9. Pay the application fee of ₹100 (if applicable) through the online payment gateway. SC, ST, PwBD, EBC, and Women candidates are exempted from paying the fee.
10. Review all the details carefully and submit the application form.
11. Download and print the submitted application form for future reference.
