ICMR NIHR Recruitment 2026: The ICMR–National Institute of Health Research (ICMR-NIHR), Jodhpur, has released an official recruitment notification for temporary Project Human Resource positions under the SURAKSHA – Statewise Understanding for Regulation and Action on Trans-fat Safety and Health Assessment project.

A total of 4 vacancies are available for Program Coordinator and Research Associate posts. Eligible candidates can attend the Walk-in Interview/Written Test on 16 September 2026 at ICMR-NIHR, Jodhpur.

Program Coordinator:

Candidates must possess any one of the following essential qualifications:

• Option 1: First Class Post Graduate Degree in Public Health/Nutrition, including integrated PG degrees, with 3 years of experience. OR
• Option 2: PhD in a relevant subject. OR
• Option 3: Second Class Post Graduate Degree in Public Health/Nutrition, including integrated PG degrees, with PhD and 3 years of experience.

Desirable Qualification/Experience: PhD/MPH in Public Health, Epidemiology, Community Medicine, Biostatistics, Nutrition or a related discipline is desirable. Experience in multi-state public health research projects, project coordination, data analysis, scientific writing, statistical software and MS Office is also desirable.

Research Associate:

• Candidates should possess a Postgraduate Degree in Public Health/Nutrition from a recognized institution with 1 year of experience.

Desirable experience includes field-based public health research, data collection, survey implementation, stakeholder coordination, report writing and proficiency in MS Office.

The post-wise maximum age limit is:

Age will be calculated as on the date of the Walk-in Interview/Written Test. Age relaxation is applicable according to the prescribed rules.

Age relaxation may be admissible for eligible SC/ST/OBC candidates, retrenched Government employees, departmental candidates, ex-servicemen and other eligible categories in accordance with Central Government/DoPT/ICMR instructions.

Salary:

Selected candidates will receive the following monthly remuneration:

Tenure of Appointment:

• Both positions are purely temporary project positions. The initial tenure is one year; however, the notification states that the positions are temporary and may end at any point in time.
• Selected candidates will not have any claim for regular appointment at ICMR-NIHR or continuation in another project.

Selection Process:

The selection procedure may consist of:

Written Test → Interview → Skill Test (where applicable) → Final Merit

Only eligible candidates will be allowed to participate. If there are more than 30 candidates, a written test may be conducted.

The qualifying marks for the written test are:

If a written test is conducted, generally up to the top 5 candidates for Program Coordinator and top 10 candidates for Research Associate will be interviewed.

Final merit will be prepared based on written test and interview marks. If a written test is not conducted because there are fewer than 30 candidates, merit will be based on interview marks.

How to Apply:

There is no advance online application process specified in the notification. Eligible candidates need to attend the Walk-in Interview/Written Test and submit their application by hand.

Candidates should:

2. Fill out the application form carefully.

• Candidates who fail to produce their original certificates for verification will not be considered.
• Candidates applying for more than one project position must submit a separate application for each position.
