GMDC Recruitment 2026: Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited (GMDC) has invited applications from eligible and experienced professionals for Manager – Chemical (Coal Gasification), Manager – Mechanical (Coal Gasification), and DGM – Coal Gasification posts on a full-time contractual basis. The recruitment notification provides a total of 7 vacancies across these three positions.

Manager – Chemical (Coal Gasification)

• Educational Qualification: Candidate should possess a degree in Chemical Engineering from a reputed institution.
• Experience: Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in gasification, refinery, petrochemical, fertilizer, chemical or industrial gas plant operations.
• Applicants must also have been involved in project development covering construction through commissioning to stable operation and have hands-on experience in complex plant operations.
• Working knowledge of syngas clean-up, including particulate removal and acid gas removal, is desirable. Experience involving coal, lignite, biomass or petcoke as feedstock is also desirable. Candidates should have good communication and interpersonal skills and be willing to work at project sites and in shifts.

Manager – Mechanical (Coal Gasification)

• Educational Qualification: Candidate should possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institution.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a gasification, refinery, petrochemical, fertilizer, chemical or thermal power plant is required.
• Candidates must have participated in project development from construction through commissioning to stable operation and should have hands-on experience in complex plant operations.
• Exposure to coal, lignite, biomass or petcoke gasification is required. Applicants should also possess good communication and interpersonal skills and be willing to work at project sites and in shifts.

DGM – Coal Gasification

Educational Qualification: Candidate should possess a degree in Engineering in any of the following disciplines:

• Mining Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Chemical Engineering

Experience: Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in gasification, refinery, petrochemical, fertilizer or chemical projects, including at least 2 years of experience leading a plant, mine or project site.

Experience in gasification involving coal, lignite, petcoke, biomass or other feedstock is desirable. Candidates should have worked with technology licensors, EPC contractors and consultants through feasibility, pilot or commissioning stages.

GMDC also lists techno-commercial understanding of the gasification value chain, experience in complex project rollouts, knowledge of the gasification ecosystem, multi-location site operations, coal/lignite mining, project budgeting and project finance among the desirable attributes.

Salary:

• GMDC has not specified a fixed monthly salary in the advertisement.
• The monthly consolidated remuneration will be determined based on the candidate’s previous/current remuneration and is negotiable.
• Selected candidates will not be entitled to other allowances except transport facility. Travelling allowance for official tours will be provided according to GMDC Ltd. rules and norms.

Job Location:

• Selected candidates will be posted at GMDC’s coal/lignite gasification project sites in Odisha and Gujarat.
• For the DGM position, the advertisement specifically states that the post involves travel to and stay at project sites in both states.

Contract Period:

• The appointment is strictly contractual. The initial contract will be for 3 years, which may be extended by up to 1 year depending upon functional requirements, performance appraisal and medical fitness.
• The contractual engagement does not provide any right to regular appointment in GMDC. Either side may terminate the contract by providing one month’s prior notice; GMDC may also terminate it immediately by paying one month’s remuneration instead of the notice period.

Selection Process:

• A Selection Committee will scrutinise the applications and shortlist candidates based on merit.
• Shortlisted candidates will be called for an Interview, which may be conducted in person or through Video Conferencing, as decided by GMDC Ltd.
• The competent authority’s decision regarding selection will be final.
