AMU Guest Teacher Recruitment 2026: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Women’s College, Aligarh, has invited online applications for Guest Teacher posts in Mathematics for the Academic Session 2026–27. A total of 2 vacancies are available under Local Advertisement No. 04WC/2026-2027, dated 15 September 2026. Vacancy Details:

Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University has announced the following vacancies:

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must satisfy either Eligibility A or Eligibility B prescribed in the advertisement.

Eligibility A

Candidates should have:

• A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks, or an equivalent grade, in the concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
• Candidates must also have cleared NET conducted by UGC or CSIR, or a similar test accredited by UGC such as SLET/SET, unless exempted under the applicable UGC PhD regulations.

The advertisement also provides exemptions from NET/SLET/SET for eligible PhD holders subject to the conditions laid down under the relevant UGC regulations.

For Mathematics, the appendix lists Mathematics as the concerned/relevant subject and Applied Mathematics / Mathematics and Computing among the allied subjects.

Eligibility B

Alternatively, a candidate may qualify if the PhD degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution ranked among the top 500 at any time by one of the specified ranking systems, including:

• Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)
• Times Higher Education (THE)
• Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), Shanghai Jiao Tong University

Relaxation in Marks

A relaxation of 5% at the Bachelor’s and Master’s level is allowed for eligible candidates belonging to categories such as SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and specified categories of persons with disabilities, as per applicable Government of India rules.

The relaxation is based only on qualifying marks and does not include grace marks.

Application Fee:

• The application processing fee is: ₹500 per application
• The fee is non-refundable and has to be paid online through the AMU Careers Portal.
• PwD candidates are exempted from payment of the prescribed processing fee, provided they upload an authentic disability certificate in the prescribed format along with the application.

Selection Process:

Eligible applicants will be shortlisted for an interview.

The University has stated that merely possessing the minimum qualification does not automatically entitle a candidate to be called for interview. The University may restrict the number of candidates called for interview through scrutiny or shortlisting criteria.

The list of eligible candidates and the tentative date and time of interview will be displayed on the Women’s College, AMU website.

Candidates should note that:

• No separate interview letter will be issued.
• Candidates called for interview will not be paid TA/DA.
• Applicants should regularly check the Careers Portal and Women’s College website for updates.

How to Apply:

Candidates have to complete both the online application and hard-copy submission process.

1. Visit the AMU Careers Portal at careers.amuonline.ac.in.
2. Complete the online application form for Guest Teacher (Mathematics).
3. Pay the applicable processing fee online.
4. After successful submission, download and print the PDF application form on A4-size paper.
5. Sign the printed application form and paste a recent front-facing photograph at the designated place.
6. Attach self-attested copies of the required certificates and documents.
7. Send the completed application by post to the Principal, Women’s College, AMU, Aligarh.
8. The envelope should mention the post applied for, advertisement number and advertisement date.
