AAI Consultant Recruitment 2026: Airports Authority of India (AAI) has released Advertisement No. 14/2026/CHQ/SSCOs for the engagement of retired Short Service Commission Officers (SSCOs) from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, and Indian Coast Guard as Consultants on a contract basis. A total of 39 consultant positions are available at Pune, Kanpur, Purnea, Goa (Dabolim), Port Blair, and Darbhanga Airports.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university.

They must also have the required professional qualifications:

Basic ATC Course/ATM and AL (Basic) and GCA/ATSS Course.

Experience Required

Applicants should have undertaken Air Traffic Control (ATC) duties for at least 5 years cumulatively, including at least one year of ATC duties at a Joint User Defence Airfield.


Age Limit

The maximum age limit is 50 years as on 1 October 2026, the last date for submission of applications.

Additionally, the period between the candidate’s retirement from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, or Indian Coast Guard and the application closing date should not exceed six years.


Salary / Remuneration

The consultant will receive a fixed monthly remuneration in accordance with DoPT OM dated 09 December 2020.

The monthly amount will be calculated by deducting the basic pension from the pay drawn at the time of retirement. The fixed remuneration will remain unchanged throughout the contract period, with no annual increment or percentage increase.

Allowances

As per the notification:

  • HRA will not be admissible.
  • A fixed Transport Allowance may be provided, subject to the applicable rate at the time of retirement.
  • TA/DA for official tours may be admissible as per entitlement.
  • TDS will be deducted at source.

Period of Engagement

The initial engagement will be for one year and may be extended by another year at a time.

The total cumulative engagement period cannot exceed five years, and in any case the extension cannot continue beyond the age of 55 years.

The engagement will be on a full-time basis, and selected consultants will not be allowed to undertake another assignment during the contract period.

AAI Consultant Duties

Selected consultants will assist and support Air Traffic Control operations at Joint User Defence Airfields.

Their responsibilities may include:

  • ATC operations
  • Surface Movement Control (SMC)
  • Watch extension
  • Other ATC-related operational activities assigned by the ATS In-charge.

Leave Rules

Consultants will be eligible for leave at the rate of 1.5 days for every completed month of service.

Unavailed leave will neither be carried forward nor encashed. Proportionate remuneration may also be deducted for absence beyond admissible leave and notified holidays.


Selection Process

Only eligible and shortlisted applicants will be called for:

Selection will be based on the merit ranking of the interview.

The schedule of application verification and interview will be communicated to shortlisted candidates through their registered email IDs.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the verification/interview or for joining the assignment.
