DMRC Head Operations Recruitment 2026: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) has released Advertisement No. DMRC/PERS/22/HR/2026(234) for recruitment to the post of Head Operations for the Operations & Maintenance work of Mumbai Metro Line-3, Mumbai. The appointment is available on Deputation, post-retirement contractual engagement (PRCE), or Contractual Engagement basis.

Vacancy Details

DMRC has announced one Head Operations vacancy at HOD level in its Operations Department for Mumbai Metro Line-3 Operations & Maintenance work.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should be working, or should have worked, in a Government organisation, Railways, PSU or Metro organisation at senior administrative/decision-making level and must possess experience and expertise in the Operations Department.

Applicants should also be conversant with working in a computerized environment and should be free from D&AR and Vigilance angle.

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification depends upon the mode of engagement.

Deputation / PRCE

For candidates applying on Deputation or Post Retirement Contractual Engagement basis, the notification specifies educational qualification as Not Applicable.

Contractual Engagement

Candidates applying on a regular Contractual Engagement basis must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering discipline.

Experience Required

Candidates must possess extensive experience in rail-based transportation systems.

According to the notification:

• Minimum 20 years of professional experience in a rail-based transportation system.
• Out of this, at least 13 years must be in executive grade in rail-based MRTS, handling responsibilities related to train operations, OCC, DCC and station management.
• Candidates must also have either 5 years’ experience as Head Operations or 8 years’ experience as Deputy Head Operations in an underground rail-based MRTS.

Age Limit

Age will be calculated as on 01 September 2026.

Deputation Basis

The maximum age limit is:

58 years.

Post Retirement Contractual Engagement

The maximum age limit is:

65 years.

Contractual Engagement

The contractual engagement will end when the candidate reaches 60 years of age.

Salary

Contractual Engagement Salary

The consolidated salary is inclusive of benefits such as accommodation, transport, medical, LTA and canteen benefits. No separate financial allowances will be admissible under the contractual arrangement.

PRCE Salary

For Post Retirement Contractual Engagement, the consolidated fee varies according to the candidate’s last substantive CDA/IDA grade.

The remuneration will be based on the candidate’s last substantive grade, subject to the limits prescribed in the notification.

Deputation Pay Eligibility

Candidates applying on deputation should be working regularly in either:

CDA Pay Scale: Level 14 – ₹1,44,200 to ₹2,18,200 under the 7th CPC,

OR

IDA Pay Scale: ₹1,20,000 to ₹2,80,000.

A selected candidate on deputation will continue to draw pay from the parent department along with an incentive of 25% of Basic Pay, inclusive of applicable deputation allowance.

Contract Period

Deputation

Normal tenure is 5 years, which may be extended up to 7 years in special cases, or until superannuation, whichever is earlier.

PRCE

Initial engagement will be for one year and may be extended depending on DMRC’s requirements and satisfactory performance.

Contractual Engagement

Initial engagement will be for 3 years, with provision for further extension based on organizational requirements and satisfactory performance.

Surety Bond for Contractual Candidates

Selected candidates will be required to execute the applicable Surety Bond and serve DMRC for a minimum period of two years, subject to the terms mentioned in the notification.

Selection Process

For candidates applying on a deputation basis, the selection methodology comprises a Personal Interview.

For PRCE and Contractual Engagement, the selection process includes:

1. Personal Interview
2. Medical Fitness Examination

The medical examination for applicable candidates will be under the Executive/Technical category.

Job Responsibilities

The selected Head Operations will be responsible for the direct day-to-day operations of revenue and non-revenue trains, train and station crews, terminals, yards and stations.

The role also covers transportation service planning, passenger and employee safety and security, along with coordination with external agencies, contractors and consultants.

Place of Posting

The initial posting will be Mumbai for Operations & Maintenance work of Mumbai Metro Line-3.

However, the selected candidate may subsequently be posted or transferred to any DMRC office or project site in India or abroad.
