ITBP Sports Quota Recruitment 2026: Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBPF) has released a detailed recruitment advertisement for 126 Constable (General Duty) vacancies under the Sports Quota. Educational Qualification

  • Candidates applying for ITBP Constable GD Sports Quota Recruitment must have: Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized board.
  • Candidates must also possess the required sports qualification and relevant certificates.

Sports Qualification

Only eligible meritorious sportspersons who have participated in or won medals/positions in the prescribed competitions during the period 1 January 2024 to 1 November 2026 will be considered. 361

  • The prescribed age limit is: 18 to 23 years
  • The crucial date for determining age is 1 November 2026.

Age Relaxation

Meritorious sportspersons are eligible for the following relaxation according to the notification:

Departmental candidates who have completed at least three years of continuous Central Government service may also receive relaxation subject to the conditions given in the official notification.


Salary

  • Selected candidates will be appointed in Pay Level-3 under the 7th CPC.
  • Pay Scale: Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month.
  • Apart from basic pay, eligible candidates may receive allowances such as Dearness Allowance, ration money, washing allowance, accommodation/HRA, transport allowance and other admissible benefits under ITBP rules.

Selection Process

The recruitment process includes:

  1. Scrutiny of online applications and sports certificates
  2. Documentation
  3. Physical Standard Test (PST)
  4. Sports Trial Test
  5. Preparation of merit list
  6. Detailed Medical Examination (DME)
  7. Review Medical Examination (RME), where applicable

Candidates will have to produce original educational, caste, domicile and sports certificates during document verification.

Sports Trial Test

The Sports Trial Test carries 40 marks and is qualifying in nature.

Candidates are required to score at least 20 marks in the Sports Trial Test. However, marks obtained in the trial test will not be counted for preparation of the final merit list.

Candidates who represented India as part of the Indian squad in an eligible international event with the required clearance are exempted from the Sports Trial Test as specified in the notification.

Merit List

The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks awarded for the candidate’s qualifying sports achievement under the prescribed sports qualification table.

Candidates will then be shortlisted for the Detailed Medical Examination on the basis of merit.

Physical Standard

Height

General minimum height prescribed in the advertisement:

For example, candidates belonging to specified categories from Assam are prescribed a relaxed height standard of 165 cm for males and 155 cm for females in the notification.

Chest

For male candidates under the general standard:

  • Minimum expansion: 5 cm

Relaxations are available for certain categories.
