APPSC Group 1 Notification 2026: The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has released Notification No. 07/2026 for direct recruitment to Group-I Services. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

  • General Executive Posts (Codes 01–03 & 05–13): A Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized university established by a Central or State Act or recognized by the UGC.
  • DSP Communications (Post Code 04): B.E./B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, or Radio Engineering from a recognized university.

Age Limits & Relaxations (as on 01.07.2026)

  • Standard Age Limits: 18–44 years for general posts; 21–30 years for DSP Civil; 18–30 years for DSP Communications.
  • SC, ST, BC, and EWS Candidates: 5-year upper age relaxation.
  • SC Candidates (Limited Recruitment / CF vacancies only): 10-year relaxation.
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PBD): 10-year relaxation.
  • Ex-Servicemen & NCC Instructors: Deduct 3 years in addition to length of service rendered.

Physical Standards (Post Codes 03 & 04)

  • Male Candidates (General): Minimum height 167.6 cm; chest expansion min. 86.3 cm with 5 cm expansion.
  • ST Male Candidates: Minimum height 164 cm; chest expansion min. 83.8 cm with 5 cm expansion.
  • Female Candidates: Minimum height 152.5 cm; minimum weight 45.5 kg.

Selection Process & Exam Scheme

The recruitment process consists of three distinct stages:

  1. Screening Test (Preliminary Exam – Offline OMR): 240 Marks.
  2. Mains Written Examination (Descriptive Type): 750 Marks (Qualifying + Merit Papers).
  3. Interview / Personality Test: 75 Marks.

Candidates qualifying for the Mains examination will be picked up at a ratio of 50 times the vacancies. Interviews are held at a ratio of 1:2.

Stage 1: Screening Test (Objective Type)

  • Paper-I: General Studies: 120 Questions | 120 Minutes | 120 Marks (History & Culture, Polity, Economy, Geography).
  • Paper-II: General Aptitude: 120 Questions | 120 Minutes | 120 Marks (Mental Ability, Science & Tech, Current Affairs).
  • Negative Marking: $1/3^{\text{rd}}$ mark penalized for each wrong answer.

Stage 2: Mains Examination (Descriptive Type)

  • Telugu (SSC Standard): 150 Marks | 180 Minutes (Qualifying Nature)
  • English (SSC Standard): 150 Marks | 180 Minutes (Qualifying Nature)

Application Fee

  • Processing Fee: ₹250 for all applicants.
  • Examination Fee: ₹120 (Exempted for SC, ST, BC, PBDs, Ex-Servicemen, and White Card holders belonging to Andhra Pradesh).
  • Other State Candidates: Must pay both ₹250 and ₹120 (Total ₹370).

How to Apply

APPSC Group 1 online application process is conducted through the Commission’s website and requires a One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) before applying.

  1. Step 1: Log in to the Commission’s website, https://psc.ap.gov.in, with your registered OTPR number. First-time applicants must register their bio-data particulars through One Time Profile Registration (OTPR); a User ID is then generated and sent to the registered mobile number and email ID. Note: OTPR registration is not considered an application for any post.
  2. Step 2: Log in with your User Name (OTPR ID) and password, click “Online Application Submission,” and then “Fill Application” against Notification No. 07/2026.
  3. Step 3: Fill application-specific data such as Local/Non-Local status, White Card details (used to calculate fee), Qualification details, Post preferences, and examination centre. Use “Save” to save partial details, or “Save & Submit” to proceed to payment — only “Save & Submit” generates the payment link and finalizes the application.
  4. Payment Process: Verify the pre-populated fee and age-relaxation details from OTPR data, then complete payment via Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card. A payment reference ID is generated, and an SMS alert is sent to the registered mobile number upon successful payment.
  5. Step 4: If the payment process fails, restart the payment process as described in Step 2.
  6. Step 5: After successful submission, corrections are enabled for up to 7 days from the last date of application, on payment of Rs. 100/- per correction (fields affecting Name, Fee, and Age Relaxation cannot be corrected). No changes are allowed after this window.
  7. Download and retain the filled application PDF for future reference and correspondence.

8. Are the Telugu and English papers in the Mains counted for the final rank?

No. The Telugu and English language papers are strictly qualifying in nature. Marks scored in Paper-I through Paper-V, and the Interview (totalling 825 marks) determine the final merit.

9. Can I write the Mains exam in Telugu or Urdu?

Yes. Except for the compulsory English language paper, candidates can answer papers in English, Telugu, or Urdu. However, the chosen medium must remain consistent across all descriptive papers.

10. What is the application fee?

General / Unreserved: ₹250 (Processing Fee) + ₹120 (Examination Fee) = ₹370.
Exempted Categories (SC, ST, BC, PBDs, Ex-Servicemen, and AP White Card holders): Exempted from the ₹120 exam fee; they only pay the ₹250 processing fee.
Other State Candidates: Must pay the full fee of ₹370 regardless of category.
