Cochin Shipyard Recruitment 2026: Cochin Shipyard Limited has released a notification for the engagement of Graduate Apprentices and Technician (Diploma) Apprentices under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act, 1973. A total of 139 apprenticeship training seats are available for eligible candidates who are domiciled in Kerala and have passed their qualifying examination during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026.

Eligible candidates can register and apply online through the NATS portal from 12 August 2026 to 1 September 2026. There is no application fee.

Educational Qualification

Graduate Apprentices

  • Candidates must possess a Degree in Engineering or Technology from a statutory university, an institution empowered to award such a degree by an Act of Parliament, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the relevant government authority in the applicable discipline.

Technician (Diploma) Apprentices

  • For the relevant engineering disciplines, candidates must possess a Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a State Council/Board of Technical Education, university, or recognized equivalent institution.
  • For Commercial Practice, candidates must possess a Diploma in Commercial Practice from an institution recognized by the State or Central Government.
  • Candidates claiming an equivalent qualification must submit an Equivalency Certificate issued by the competent authority. Without the certificate, the candidature will not be considered.

Age Limit

Candidates must be 18 years old as on 1 September 2026.


Domicile Requirement

Only candidates who are domiciled in Kerala will be considered for this apprenticeship recruitment.


Passing Year

Applicants must have passed the prescribed qualification during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026.


Apprenticeship Training Duration

The apprenticeship training will be for a period of one year under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act, 1973.


Selection Process

Selection will be based primarily on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualifying examination for the respective discipline.

If candidates have the same percentage, preference will be given based on:

  1. Seniority in the passing year.
  2. If the passing year is also the same, the older candidate will receive precedence based on date of birth.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for certificate verification. Original certificates must be produced, along with self-attested copies. Candidates who complete verification will be considered for selection according to merit and reservation, subject to medical fitness.

For Candidates Already Registered on the Old Apprentice Portal

  1. Visit the NATS portal: nats.education.gov.in.
  2. Activate your account using the “Forgot Password” option on the Student Login page.
  3. Log in and complete/update your application details.
  4. Search for “COCHIN SHIPYARD LIMITED” under “Apply against advertised vacancies.”
  5. Click on “Apply.”
  6. Check that the application status shows “Applied.”

For New Candidates

  1. Visit nats.education.gov.in.
  2. Click on “Student.”
  3. Select “Student Register.”
  4. Complete the registration/application form.
  5. A unique Enrolment Number will be generated.
  6. Log in to your NATS account.
  7. Search for “COCHIN SHIPYARD LIMITED” under “Apply against advertised vacancies.”
  8. Click “Apply.”
  9. Confirm that the application status shows “Applied.”

Important Instructions

  • Completion of the apprenticeship does not guarantee employment with Cochin Shipyard Limited.
