Delhi High Court Recruitment 2026: The High Court of Delhi, New Delhi, has released an official vacancy notification for the Senior Personal Assistant (SPA) and Personal Assistant (PA) Examination 2026. A total of 150 vacancies are available, including 117 Senior Personal Assistant posts and 33 Personal Assistant posts. Vacancy Details:

Senior Personal Assistant Vacancy

The Senior Personal Assistant post is classified as Group B and carries the 8th Level of the Pay Matrix under the 7th CPC. A total of 117 vacancies have been announced.

Out of the 117 SPA vacancies, 7 vacancies are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) on a horizontal basis.

Personal Assistant Vacancy

The Personal Assistant post is also classified as Group B and carries the 7th Level of the Pay Matrix under the 7th CPC. A total of 33 vacancies have been notified.

Additionally, 3 Personal Assistant vacancies are reserved for PwBD candidates on a horizontal basis.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must possess the required qualifications as on 5 October 2026, which is the closing date for online applications.

Senior Personal Assistant

Candidates must:

• Be a Graduate from a recognised University.
• Have a minimum speed of 110 words per minute in English Shorthand.
• Have a minimum speed of 40 words per minute in English Typewriting on a computer.
• Possess good working knowledge of computers.

Personal Assistant

Candidates must:

• Be a Graduate from a recognised University.
• Have a minimum speed of 100 words per minute in English Shorthand.
• Have a minimum speed of 40 words per minute in English Typewriting on a computer.
• Possess good working knowledge of computers.

All educational qualifications should be obtained from universities, institutions or boards recognised by the Government of India or approved by appropriate government regulatory bodies. The final result of the qualifying examination must have been declared on or before the closing date.

Candidates wishing to apply for both SPA and PA posts must submit separate applications and pay the applicable fee separately for each post.

Age Limit:

The candidate’s age should be between 18 years and 32 years as on 1 January 2026.

Candidates should therefore have been born:

• Not earlier than: 2 January 1994
• Not later than: 1 January 2008

Age Relaxation

Regular employees of the Delhi High Court are not subject to an upper age limit, provided they possess the required educational qualifications. This relaxation does not extend to employees of other government departments, PSUs or Delhi District Courts.

Application Fee:

Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable online examination fee.

Applicable transaction charges will be extra.

The examination fee can be paid through:

Selection Process:

Candidates for both Senior Personal Assistant and Personal Assistant posts will have to qualify through multiple examination stages.

The recruitment process includes:

1. English Typing Test
2. English Shorthand Tests
3. Main Descriptive Examination
4. Interview

Stage 1 – English Typing Test

The English Typing Test will be conducted on computers for 10 minutes.

Candidates must demonstrate a minimum typing speed of:

40 words per minute in English typing on a computer.

The maximum permissible mistakes will be 3% of the total words typed. This stage is qualifying in nature.

Stage 2 – English Shorthand Test

Senior Personal Assistant

• Shorthand Speed: 110 WPM
• Dictation: 550 words
• Dictation Duration: 5 minutes
• Transcription Time: 45 minutes
• Maximum Marks: 120 marks

Candidates will be given two shorthand dictation/transcription attempts, and the better performance will be considered.

Personal Assistant

• Shorthand Speed: 100 WPM
• Dictation: 500 words
• Dictation Duration: 5 minutes
• Transcription Time: 45 minutes
• Maximum Marks: 110 marks

For PA, candidates committing more than 25 mistakes in the shorthand test will be disqualified. Two transcription opportunities will be provided, with the better attempt being considered.

Main Descriptive Examination

The Main Descriptive Examination will carry 100 marks and will have a duration of 120 minutes.

The English-language paper consists of:

For SPA, the minimum qualifying marks are:

• General Category: 50 marks
• Reserved Category including PwBD: 45 marks

For PA candidates, the notice specifies 45 marks out of 100 as the minimum qualifying marks for reserved-category candidates, including PwBD.

Interview

The interview carries a maximum of 15 marks.

There is no minimum qualifying mark in the interview.

The final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in:

• English Shorthand Test
• Main Descriptive Examination
• Interview

The English Typing Test is qualifying in nature, and its marks are not added to the final merit score.

Illegible or blurred signatures may lead to rejection of the application. Writing the candidate’s full name in capital letters will not be accepted as a signature.

Application Correction Window

Delhi High Court will provide a three-day correction window from 12 October to 14 October 2026.

However, candidates will not be permitted to modify the following particulars:

The correction charge is:

• ₹200 for the first correction/re-submission
• ₹500 for the second correction/re-submission
