Eligibility Criteria:
Qualification & Experience:
- MBBS / BDS / B.V.Sc. & AH is recognised by MCI / DCI / VCI, respectively. Or
- BDS / B. V. Sc degree with one year of experience in the relevant field. Or
- 1st class Master’s degree in relevant subject (Microbiology/Virology/Biotechnology) from a recognised university Or
- 2nd class M. Sc. + PhD degree in relevant subject (Microbiology/Virology/ Biotechnology)from a recognised university.
- MD in the related subject from a recognised university for candidates with first class relevant degree.
- Additional post-doctoral research/training experience in relevant subjects in recognised institute(s).
- Ph. D/Doctorate in the related subject from a recognised university for candidates with first class relevant degree.
- Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools / Data Management.
- Two years of R&D / Teaching experience in the relevant subject after obtaining the essential qualification.
Age limit:
- 35 years as of 13.3.2026
- Upper Age limit relaxation is as per the Government rule. Up to 05 years (five years) age relaxation for candidates with at least 02 years previous experience of working as a project staff in a VRDL or extramural research project on Virology or Microbiology in a Medical college.

Candidates have to submit the application form through speed post/registered post or self-submit to the office of the “Principal cum Chief Superintendent, Diphu Medical College & Hospital, Diphu, Assam 782460” with superscription as “Application for VRDL post of Research Scientist-B” on or before 13.03.2026. If the last date is a holiday, the next working day will be counted as the last date.
Documents to be submitted:
- The candidate needs to submit the application in the format. The number of rows may be added if desired by the candidate. No change in serial no. order or head of column to be made. The application in the said format needs to be properly filled out and signed.
- Two recent self signed passport sized colored photographs are to be attached on first page of the Performa format.
- Qualification: Qualifications and degree should be from a government-recognised institution/ University.
- One set of Photostat copies of ID proof, Address proof and certificates self-attested must be attached with the application form.
