India Post Skilled Artisan Recruitment 2026: The Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, has announced a recruitment opportunity for 19 Skilled Artisan (Tradesman) vacancies at Mail Motor Services (MMS), Kolkata. Educational Qualification

Candidates must satisfy one of the following qualification requirements for the respective trade:

Option 1: Relevant Trade Certificate

• Certificate in the respective trade from a Government-recognized technical institution.

Option 2: 8th Pass Qualification

• Must have passed the 8th standard.
• Must possess at least one year of experience in the relevant trade.

Additional Requirement for MV Mechanic

Candidates applying for the MV Mechanic post must possess a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving licence. The licence is required for driving vehicles during testing purposes.

The HMV licence requirement specifically applies to MV Mechanic applicants and is not a general requirement for all seven trades.

Salary

Selected candidates will receive a salary under Level 2 of the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix.

The salary is ₹19,900 to ₹63,200 per month under the prescribed pay scale, along with applicable allowances. Actual in-hand salary will depend on allowances and deductions.

The corrigendum dated 29 October 2026 does not specify an application fee amount or a separate fee payment procedure.

Selection Process

The selection process will be conducted through a Competitive Trade Test in the respective trade.

The selection procedure generally involves:
