Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has released the official notification for Recruitment of Generalist / Specialist Officers in Various Scales – 2026-27. A total of 291 vacancies are available for Manager, Senior Manager and Assistant Manager-level posts in Generalist and Specialist Officer categories.

Vacancy Details:

Indian Overseas Bank has announced 291 vacancies across 14 post codes.

Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility requirements vary according to the post. Age, educational qualification and post-qualification work experience are calculated as on 1 August 2026.

Manager – Branch Management

• Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
• Experience: 3 years as an Officer in a Scheduled Public Sector Bank or Scheduled Private Sector Bank, including at least 2 years in Branch Banking.
• Experience as a Scale I Branch Head will be preferred.

Selected candidates will be posted anywhere in India and will be posted as Branch Head after completion of probation.

Manager – IT

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in CS, IT, Electronics & Communication or Electronics & Instrumentation, or MCA, or M.Sc. Computer Science/IT.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of post-qualification IT experience, including at least 3 years in Banking/BFSI.

Candidates must have hands-on experience in at least one specified technology domain such as Full Stack Development, Operating System Administration, Network Administration, Cloud Engineering, Database Administration, DevOps, DevSecOps, ITSM, Disaster Recovery, Virtualization, Middleware Administration or IT Procurement.

Manager – Information Security

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M. Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Cyber Security or Information Security.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in at least three specified security domains.

Relevant areas include web application security testing, mobile application security testing, API security assessment, SAST, DAST, AI/LLM security testing and Red Team activities.

Manager – Information Security Audit

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech or MCA in the specified disciplines.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years, with the notification prescribing specific experience requirements in Information Security/IS Audit/Cyber Security Audit or relevant IT/software development experience.

Senior Manager – IT

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech, MCA or M.Sc. in Computer Science/IT in the prescribed disciplines.
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of post-qualification IT experience, including at least 5 years in Banking/BFSI.

Experience in mission-critical production systems, digital banking platforms, infrastructure, cloud environments, cybersecurity controls or technology operations is specified.

Senior Manager – Information Security

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in the prescribed technology/security disciplines.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in at least three specified security domains.
• Relevant areas include web application security, mobile security, API security, SAST, DAST, AI/LLM security testing and Red Team activities.

Senior Manager – Information Security Audit

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech or MCA in the prescribed disciplines.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years, with specific requirements in Information Security/IS Audit/Cyber Security Audit or banking application development using Secure by Design principles.

Senior Manager – Database Administrator

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech, MCA or M.Sc. Computer Science/IT.
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of post-qualification Database Administration experience, including 5 years in Production Database Administration and at least 3 years in Banking/BFSI.
• Experience in Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, database performance optimization, backup/recovery, DR drills, database security and compliance is required.

Senior Manager – Network Administrator

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech, M.Tech or MCA in the prescribed disciplines.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in Network Operations, including Network Security using Cisco FTD and Check Point Firewalls.
• Strong expertise in Enterprise Network Architecture, Routing and Switching is required.
• Mandatory certification: CCNA Routing & Switching / CCNA Security / Check Point CCSE.

10. Senior Manager – Cyber Security Administrator

• Vacancies: 5
• Scale: MMGS-III
• Age: 25 to 35 years
• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in the prescribed technology/security disciplines.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in any two specified domains.
• Domains include Forensic Analysis/Incident Response, SIEM/XDR, Web/API Security, IAM/AD/PAM, AI Security and Network Security.

Manager – Credit

• Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with MBA Finance/PGDBA/PGDBM/MMS Finance, or CA, or CMA.
• Experience: 3 years of post-qualification experience in a Bank/Financial Institution, including at least 2 years in Credit.
• Experience handling MSME/Corporate Advances is preferred.

Senior Manager – Credit

• Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with MBA Finance/PGDBA/PGDBM/MMS Finance, or CA, or CMA.
• Experience: 6 years of post-qualification experience in a Bank/Financial Institution, including at least 4 years in Credit.

Senior Manager – Risk

• Qualification: Graduation with MBA Finance/PGDM Finance/PGDBF/MFM/MFC/Masters in Mathematics/Statistics/Economics, or prescribed professional risk-management certification.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years as an officer in Risk, Credit, Forex, Treasury or Finance in a Public Sector Bank, Private Sector Bank, NBFC or Financial Institution.

Assistant Manager – Security

• Qualification: Graduation from a recognized university plus the prescribed computer/IT-related certification or subject requirement.
• Candidates must meet the prescribed service experience requirements as a retired JCO/equivalent, eligible Paramilitary Inspector-level candidate, or Police Officer not below Inspector with the specified service experience.
• Presently serving applicants may also apply if their date of discharge is on or before 30 September 2026.

Salary / Pay Scale

The pay scales mentioned in the notification are:

DA, HRA, CCA and other benefits will be provided according to the Bank’s applicable rules.

Specialist Officers recruited laterally in MMGS-II and MMGS-III may also receive facilities such as conveyance expenses, newspaper cost, telephone/mobile expenses, residential furniture and bank-owned/leased accommodation as per applicable guidelines.

Probation Period

• Manager – Branch Management: 6 months
• Assistant Manager – Security: 2 years
• All other posts: 1 year

The probation period is based on active service from the date of joining, subject to the Bank’s Officers’ Service Regulations.

Bond Amount

Selected candidates are required to execute a Financial Service Indemnity Bond:

• JMGS-I: ₹2,00,000 with a minimum service period of 3 years.
• MMGS-II & MMGS-III: ₹2,50,000 with a minimum service period of 3 years.

Selection Process:

The selection process consists of:

2. Personal Interview

Candidates who qualify in the Online Examination will be called for the interview. The Bank may also conduct preliminary screening/shortlisting based on qualifications, experience and profile before calling candidates for the examination/interview.

For Generalist Officer – Branch Management

Professional Knowledge includes Banking Law & Practice, Indian Economy & Indian Financial System, Principles & Practices of Banking, and Accounting & Financial Management for Bankers.

For All Other Posts

Professional Knowledge will vary according to the post.

Negative Marking

• The online examination contains 100 objective-type questions and has a total duration of 2 hours, with separate timing for each section.
• A penalty of one-fourth (1/4) of the marks allotted to the question will be deducted for every wrong answer. No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.
• The notification also specifies minimum qualifying marks of 30% for reserved candidates and 35% for unreserved candidates in the Online Examination.

The amounts are inclusive of GST. The fee/intimation charges are non-refundable.

Payment can be made online through Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, BHIM or UPI. Candidates should retain the generated e-receipt for future reference.
