NIT Goa Faculty Recruitment 2026: National Institute of Technology Goa (NIT Goa), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has released an official recruitment notification for faculty positions. Applications are invited from eligible Indian nationals for the posts of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor across various departments. The advertisement is NITGOA/RECT/2026/OW/14 dated 31 August 2026.

Vacancy Details:

NIT Goa has advertised vacancies under three recruitment advertisement numbers.

Educational Qualification & Experience:

All new entrants are required to have a PhD in the relevant/equivalent discipline and a First Class in preceding degrees from Bachelor’s degree onward. Degrees should be obtained from institutions/universities recognized by UGC/AICTE/AIU/Government of India.

Professor

• Pay Level: Level-14A
• Entry Pay: ₹1,59,100/-
• Essential Qualification: PhD.
• Required Credit Points: 80
• Experience: 10 years after PhD or 13 years of total working experience, subject to the detailed experience conditions prescribed in the notification.

Associate Professor

• Pay Level: Level-13A2
• Entry Pay: ₹1,39,600/-
• Essential Qualification: PhD.
• Required Credit Points: 50
• Six years after PhD, including at least three years at Assistant Professor Grade-I Level-12 or corresponding approved/equivalent level; or
• Nine years total working experience, of which three years must be after PhD, along with the prescribed Level-12/equivalent experience.

Assistant Professor Grade-I

• Pay Level: Level-12
• Entry Pay: ₹1,01,500/-
• Qualification: PhD.
• Credit Points: 20
• Experience: Three years after PhD or six years total teaching and research experience in an institution of repute, R&D laboratory or relevant industry.

Assistant Professor Grade-II

• Pay Level: Level-10
• Entry Pay: ₹70,900/-
• Qualification: PhD.
• Experience: Nil
• Credit Points: Nil
• Appointment is on a contract basis.

Application Fee:

Candidates have to pay a non-refundable application fee per department per post.

The notification states that the application fee is mandatory as applicable, including for serving regular faculty members, and must be paid through the link available on the online recruitment portal.

Selection Process

• The selection process includes scrutiny of applications and shortlisting based on factors including credit-point score, experience, and research/academic performance, followed by presentation and interview.
• Shortlisted candidates will be required to deliver a lecture in the respective department on a topic from a core undergraduate subject using a black/white board. This is followed by a personal interview involving a presentation on past research work and future research plans.
• Candidates should note that merely satisfying the minimum qualification and experience requirements does not automatically entitle them to an interview call.

How to Apply:

Eligible candidates are required to apply through the online recruitment portal available on the NIT Goa website. The online application portal will close at 5:00 PM on 30 September 2026.

After submitting the online form, candidates should:

1. Print a copy of the submitted application.
2. Complete the relevant annexures/enclosures.
3. Attach self-attested supporting documents and the required credit-point sheets.
4. Send the complete hard copy by Speed Post/Registered Post.
5. Submit a separate application and fee for each post and each department applied for. Multiple posts/departments in one application can lead to rejection.
