Staff Selection Commission has released the official notification for SSC CGL Recruitment 2026 for approximately 12,256 Group B and Group C posts in various Ministries, Departments, Organizations, Constitutional Bodies, Statutory Bodies and Tribunals of the Government of India. Eligible candidates can apply online from 21 May 2026 to 22 June 2026 through the official SSC website.

Eligibility Criteria:

A candidate must be:

Citizen of India
Subject of Nepal
Subject of Bhutan
A person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries with the intention to settle permanently in India

Candidates other than Indian citizens must have an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.


Educational Qualification:

Assistant Audit Officer / Assistant Accounts Officer

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.

Desirable qualifications include Chartered Accountant, Cost & Management Accountant, Company Secretary, Master’s in Commerce, MBA Finance, Master’s in Business Studies or Master’s in Business Economics.

Junior Statistical Officer

Candidates must have:

All Other Posts

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

Final-year graduation candidates can also apply, but they must possess the required qualification as of 01 August 2026.

Selection Process

The selection process for SSC CGL Recruitment 2026 will be conducted in two tiers:

  1. Tier-I Computer-Based Examination
  2. Tier-II Computer-Based Examination
  3. Document Verification by User Departments
  4. Final Merit / Post Allotment

Tier-I marks will be used to shortlist candidates for Tier-II. Final selection will be based on the rules mentioned in the official notification.

Tier-II Exam Pattern

Tier-II will include Paper-I for all qualified candidates. Paper-II will be for Junior Statistical Officer / Statistical Investigator Grade-II posts, and Paper-III will be for Assistant Audit Officer / Assistant Accounts Officer posts.

How to Apply for SSC CGL Recruitment 2026

Candidates must apply online through the official SSC website.

  1. Visit the official website: ssc.gov.in
  2. Complete One-Time Registration if not already registered on the new SSC website.
  3. Log in using Registration Number and Password.
  4. Click on Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2026 under Latest Notifications.
  5. Fill in the online application form carefully.
  6. Capture/upload live photograph as per SSC instructions.
  7. Upload scanned signature in JPG/JPEG format.
  8. Choose examination centres.
  9. Pay the application fee, if applicable.
  10. Preview the application form and submit it.
  11. Download and print the submitted application form for future reference.

Applications must be submitted only through ssc.gov.in or the my SSC mobile application.

Important Instructions

  • Candidates should apply before the last date to avoid server issues.
  • Previous OTRs generated on the old SSC website will not work on the new SSC website.
  • Candidates must complete a fresh OTR on ssc.gov.in if not already done.
  • The photograph must be captured live through the application module.
  • Candidates should not wear a cap, mask or spectacles while capturing the photograph.
  • Application correction will be allowed from 29 June to 01 July 2026.
  • The correction charge is ₹200 for the first correction and ₹500 for the second correction.
  • Candidates should check the SSC website regularly for exam dates, admit card, vacancies and results.
