Assistant Manager – 8 Posts

The Assistant Manager notification includes 4 UR, 2 SC, 1 ST and 1 EWS vacancies, with some vacancies identified as backlog vacancies.

Supervisor – 13 Posts

The Supervisor vacancies include UR, OBC, SC and EWS reservations as specified in the notification.

Educational Qualification

Assistant Manager (Electrical)

Candidates should have a Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Electronics & Communication Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized university.

A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience is required in relevant areas such as electrical work, electrical design, quality control, outfitting, utility or maintenance in shipbuilding, ship repair, marine, port, engineering, government or semi-government establishments.

Assistant Manager (Mechanical)

Candidates should possess a Degree in Mechanical, Marine or Naval Architecture Engineering with at least 60% marks from a recognized university.

The notification requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience in areas including quality control, machinery, hull fabrication, hull erection, piping, installation & commissioning, outfitting or accommodation outfitting.

Supervisor Posts

Supervisor (Mechanical)

Candidates can apply with either:

• Three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education; or
• ITI (NTC) in Welding, Sheet Metal Worker, Bench Fitter, Fitter or Plumber trade.

For diploma-qualified candidates, the notification requires 7 years of post-qualification experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity. For the specified ITI qualification route, 15 years of post-qualification experience, including at least 3 years of supervisory experience, is required.

Supervisor (Electrical)

Candidates should have either:

• Three-year Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering; or
• ITI (NTC) in Electrical or Electronic trade.

The required experience is 7 years with at least 2 years of supervisory experience for the diploma route, or 15 years with at least 3 years of supervisory experience for the specified ITI route.

Supervisor (Finance)

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (B.Com), Business Management (BBM) or Business Administration (BBA) with a minimum of 60% marks.

A minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience in Finance and Accounts, including at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity, is required.

Workmen Posts

Office Assistant

A Bachelor’s Degree in Arts (excluding Fine Arts/Performing Arts), Science, Commerce, Business Administration or Computer Applications with a minimum of 60% marks is required.

Candidates also need at least 2 years of post-qualification experience in office work, data entry, record/report generation and maintenance of files, registers and records.

Draftsman (Mechanical)

Candidates should have a three-year Diploma in Mechanical, Marine or Naval Architecture Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks.

At least 2 years of experience in design and drafting of machinery/hull machinery outfit, pipe outfit, accommodation outfit or ship systems is required. AutoCAD proficiency is desirable.

Draftsman (Electrical)

Candidates should have a three-year Diploma in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, or Instrumentation & Communication Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks.

The notification requires 2 years of experience in design and drafting of electrical systems for ships. AutoCAD proficiency is desirable.

Technician (Electrician)

Candidates should have:

• SSLC
• ITI (National Trade Certificate)
• All India National Trade Test/National Apprenticeship Certificate in the Electrician trade

At least 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience is required.

Store Keeper

Candidates should have either:

• Graduation with Post Graduate Diploma in Materials Management; or
• Three-year Diploma in Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Marine or Shipbuilding.

A minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in storekeeping is required.

Workmen Salary

The notification specifies a full gross monthly pay of ₹29,520 for Draftsman (TW6) and ₹25,000 for Electrician, Office Assistant and Store Keeper (TW4).

Age Limit

Assistant Manager

The maximum age is 30 years as on 01 September 2026. SC/ST candidates applying against reserved posts receive 5 years’ relaxation, while ex-servicemen relaxation is as per Government of India guidelines, subject to the specified maximum age.

Supervisor

The maximum age is 45 years as on 01 September 2026. The notification provides 3 years’ relaxation for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC candidates in reserved posts.

Workmen

The maximum age is 30 years as on 01 September 2026. OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates receive 3 years’ relaxation, while PwBD and ex-servicemen relaxation is as per Government of India guidelines, subject to the prescribed maximum age.

Selection Process

The selection process differs according to the recruitment category.

Assistant Manager Selection Process

Selection will be based on:

• Objective Type Test – 50 marks
• Personal Interview – 20 marks
• PowerPoint Presentation – 30 marks
• Total – 100 marks

The objective test consists of 50 MCQs covering General Knowledge and subject-related areas. The test duration is 60 minutes, and there is no negative marking.

Supervisor Selection Process

The Supervisor selection consists of:

Phase I

• Objective Type Test – 40 marks
• Descriptive Type Test – 40 marks

Phase II

• PowerPoint Presentation on work experience – 20 marks

The objective test covers General Knowledge, General English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and discipline-related questions.

Workmen Selection Process

For Office Assistant and Store Keeper, selection consists of an Objective Type Test and Descriptive Type Test for a total of 100 marks.

For Draftsman (Mechanical), Draftsman (Electrical) and Technician (Electrician), selection consists of:

• Objective Type Test – 30 marks
• Practical Test – 70 marks
• Total – 100 marks

There is no negative marking in the objective test.
