UKSSSC Recruitment 2026: The Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has released Advertisement No. 81/UKSSSC/2026 for direct recruitment to 101 vacant Group C posts in various departments of Uttarakhand. The recruitment includes Personal Assistant, Draftsman, Industrial Grade-II/Stenographer Grade-II and several departmental Personal Assistant posts. The notification was issued on 8 September 2026.

Educational Qualification:

Educational and technical qualifications vary according to the post. The notification prescribes qualifications such as Intermediate/12th standard or equivalent, along with applicable Hindi typing, stenography, computer proficiency, diploma or other technical qualifications depending on the post.

For several Personal Assistant/Stenographer posts, candidates are also required to meet prescribed Hindi shorthand and typing standards. Applicants should carefully check the qualification requirements for the particular post code before applying. Detailed post-wise eligibility conditions are provided in the official notification on pages 3 onward.

Age Limit:

The crucial date for determining age is 1 July 2026.

For most posts, the prescribed age range is generally:

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 42 years

For certain posts, a different minimum age applies. For example, some Industrial Grade posts prescribe a minimum age of 21 years.

Age relaxation in the upper age limit is available to eligible reserved categories, persons with disabilities, ex-servicemen and other categories as per applicable Uttarakhand Government rules.

Candidates should verify the exact post-wise age requirement before submitting the form.

Salary:

The pay scale differs according to the post.

Selection Process:

Selection is conducted in two stages:

1. Written Competitive Examination: An objective-type (multiple-choice) offline exam of 100 marks and 2 hours’ duration, covering the syllabus related to the educational qualification of the post. This exam determines the merit list.
2. Qualifying Typing and Shorthand/Dictation Test: Based on merit in the written exam, candidates numbering up to 4 times the number of vacancies are shortlisted for a qualifying typing test and shorthand/dictation test. This stage is qualifying in nature only – marks from this stage are not added to the final merit.

Minimum qualifying marks in the written exam are 45% for Unreserved, EWS, and OBC category candidates, and 35% for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category candidates; candidates scoring below this are treated as not qualified. Each wrong answer attracts a negative mark of one-fourth of the marks allotted to that question, while unattempted questions carry no negative marking.

Marking more than one option for a question is treated as a wrong answer. The final merit/selection list is prepared based on written exam marks, subject to qualifying the typing/shorthand stage; in case of a tie, older candidates are placed higher, and if age is also equal, English alphabetical order of name is used as the tie-breaker.Set up to four times the number of vacancies for the qualifying skill test.

If the fee is not paid or is short-paid by the closing date, the application is automatically treated as rejected, as stated in the notification. If a payment fails due to a technical issue, the amount will be refunded.
