Candidates applying for BPSSC Home Guard Adhinyak Nideshak Recruitment 2026 must fulfil the following educational qualifications:

Candidates must have passed Intermediate or equivalent on or before 01 August 2025.

Age Limit:

The age limit will be calculated as on 01 August 2025 based on the Matriculation certificate.

Age Relaxation:

Candidates already working in the Bihar Government service and having completed at least 3 years of regular service will get:

Reservation Benefits:

Reservation and age relaxation benefits are applicable only for permanent residents of Bihar. Candidates from other states will be treated under the Unreserved category.

Physical Standards:

No marks are awarded for Height, Chest, and Weight; however, candidates not meeting the prescribed standards will be declared disqualified. Physical standards for Kinnar/Kothi/Hijra/Transgender candidates will be the same as those for Backwards Class candidates.

Selection Process:

The selection process for BPSSC Havildar Instructor Recruitment 2026 consists of 2 (two) successive stages – a Written Competitive Examination of 100 marks (MCQ/Objective type, 2 hours) and a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) of 100 marks. The written examination is only qualifying for the PET; the final merit list will be based solely on marks obtained in the Physical Efficiency Test.

Candidates scoring less than 30% marks in the written examination will be disqualified from the Physical Efficiency Test. Based on written exam marks, candidates equal to 5 (five) times the number of vacancies for each reservation category will be shortlisted for PET. The appointing authority for selected candidates is the Commandant, Bihar Home Guard, Patna.

Stage 1 – Written Competitive Examination

Each correct answer carries 1 mark. Minimum qualifying marks: 30%. The written exam is qualifying only, not the basis for the final merit list.

If the examination is held in multiple sessions/shifts, normalised marks will be calculated using the Equi-Percentile Method. OMR answer sheets (carbon copy) will be retained for one year after the final selection list is published.

Stage 2 – Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Total 100 Marks

Physical Efficiency Test standards and process are the same as those prescribed for the post of Constable in Bihar Police. PET consists of three events – Running, Shot Put, and High Jump. Candidates must qualify each event separately. Only 3 chances are given for Shot Put and High Jump.

(A) Running – Maximum 50 Marks

Male candidates exceeding 6 minutes and Female candidates exceeding 5 minutes will be declared disqualified.

(B) Shot Put – Maximum 25 Marks

(C) High Jump – Maximum 25 Marks
