GMC KB Asifabad Recruitment 2026: Government Medical College (GMC), Kumuram Bheem Asifabad has released Notification No. 01/2026 dated 01 September 2026 for the recruitment of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and Senior Resident posts in various specialities. Recruitment will be on a contract/honorarium basis for the Government Medical College/Government General Hospital, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad.

A total of 99 vacancies are available. Eligible candidates can attend the walk-in interview on 11 September 2026 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Office of the Principal, Government Medical College, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must satisfy the teaching/research experience and qualification requirements prescribed under the NMC TEQ Regulations 2025.

Professor

Candidates should generally have:

• Served as Associate Professor in the concerned subject for three years in a recognized medical institution.
• At least two research publications after becoming Associate Professor, being among the first three authors.
• Completed the Basic Course in Biomedical Research.
• Meet the applicable Medical Education course requirements.

Associate Professor

Candidates should generally have:

• Worked as Assistant Professor in the concerned subject for four years in a recognized medical institution, or five years in the specified case of direct appointment as Assistant Professor in a Government medical institution.
• At least two qualifying research publications after becoming Assistant Professor.
• Completed the required Basic Course in Biomedical Research.
• Meet the applicable Medical Education course requirements.

The notification also specifies an eligibility route for certain non-teaching Consultants/Specialists/Medical Officers with a postgraduate medical degree and prescribed Government hospital experience.

Assistant Professor

• One of the main eligibility routes is one year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject in a recognized medical institution. The notification also specifies equivalent/alternative eligibility provisions for certain Tutors, Demonstrators, non-teaching Consultants/Specialists/Medical Officers and eligible diploma holders.

Senior Resident

Candidates undergoing residency in the relevant department after obtaining the prescribed postgraduate qualification may be eligible. Qualifications mentioned include:

• MD / MS / DNB in the relevant discipline; or
• In specified medical subjects such as Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology and Microbiology, the prescribed MSc with PhD qualification.

Specialty-Wise Academic Qualifications

The notification lists qualifications including MD/MS/DNB and, for certain specialties, MSc with PhD. Registration Requirement

MBBS and additional qualifications are required to be registered with the Telangana State Medical Council as applicable. The notification states that non-local candidates should obtain Telangana State Medical Council registration for their qualification within one week of selection for confirmation of appointment.

Age Limit

The age requirements mentioned in the notification are:

• Posts other than Senior Resident: Applicant should be below 69 years as on 31 July 2026.
• Senior Resident – Broad Specialties: The upper age limit is 45 years.
• Senior Resident in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic Medicine and Community Medicine: Upper age limit is 50 years.

Candidates will be selected based on:

Merit + Duration of Teaching Experience + Interview

For Professor and Associate Professor posts, the duration of teaching experience in the respective cadre and total teaching experience will be considered as specified in the notification.

Documents Required

Candidates need to submit the filled application along with Xerox/photocopies of the required documents and carry original certificates for verification. The notification lists documents including:

2. Aadhaar Card
3. PAN Card
4. SSC/Birth Certificate as proof of date of birth
5. Study/Bonafide Certificates from 1st to 7th Class
6. MBBS Degree
7. MD/MS/DNB Degree, as applicable
8. MBBS and additional PG qualification registration
9. Experience Certificates
10. Senior Resident Experience Certificate for Assistant Professor, where applicable
11. Copies of publications with proof of indexation

Candidates already working on a contract basis in the same cadre in another Government Medical College of Telangana are not eligible to apply. Selected candidates must also submit a relieving order from their previous institution, where applicable.
