HPJSV Recruitment 2026: The Himachal Pradesh Jal Shakti Vibhag (HPJSV), Jal Shakti Division, Pooh, has released a recruitment notification for 20 vacancies for Multi Purpose Workers, Para Pump Operators and Para Fitters. Candidates who have passed 8th, 10th or ITI can apply for these vacancies, subject to the post-wise eligibility requirements.

Post-Wise Vacancy Details

The department has announced a total of 20 vacancies across three different posts.

The vacancies are intended for work under the Yangthang, Pooh and Akpa subdivisions of Jal Shakti Division, Pooh.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfil the educational qualification, age limit and other eligibility conditions prescribed by the department.

1. Educational Qualification

Para Pump Operator

• Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th) from a recognised board.
• Must possess an ITI certificate in any of the following relevant trades:
  • Electrician
  • Wireman
  • Diesel Mechanic
  • Pump Mechanic
  • Motor Mechanic
  • Pump Operator-cum-Mechanic
• Relevant certificates under a Government Skill Development Scheme are also accepted as specified in the notification.

Para Fitter

• Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th).
• Must possess an ITI certificate in Fitter or Plumber trade from a recognised ITI or institute.
• Relevant certificates under a Government Skill Development Scheme are also acceptable as per the notification.

Multi Purpose Worker

• Candidates must have passed Middle Standard (8th) or equivalent from a school recognised by the State Government.
• Candidates must submit their 8th-standard marksheet.

2. Age Limit

The age limit for all three posts is:

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 45 Years

The age will be calculated as on 13 November 2026.

3. Experience Requirements

Experience is not mandatory as an essential educational qualification, but eligible relevant experience can help candidates secure additional marks.

Relevant experience in the following organisations or sectors is considered:

• Jal Shakti Vibhag (JSV)
• Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department (HPPWD)
• Central Public Works Department (CPWD)
• Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs)
• Outsourcing agencies providing services to HP Jal Shakti Vibhag

Experience certificates must be issued by the concerned Executive Engineer (JSV), as specified in the recruitment notification.

Candidates should also be physically capable of carrying tools and pipes in hilly areas. The notification specifies that candidates should not have physical disabilities or colour blindness.

Salary

Selected candidates will receive a monthly honorarium according to the post.

Note: These positions are purely part-time/hourly engagements. The working hours are six hours per day, as mentioned in the recruitment details.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates will be based on educational qualifications, relevant work experience and skill/physical tests.

The selection process includes the following stages:

1. Initial merit list based on submitted documents.
2. Shortlisting of eligible candidates.
3. Skill and physical test.
4. Verification of original certificates and testimonials.
5. Final selection based on the prescribed evaluation criteria.

The department will call shortlisted candidates through separate call letters. At least five times the number of vacancies will be considered for the skill/physical test.

Marks Distribution

The maximum marks for the evaluation process are 10.

Experience carries half a mark for every six months, subject to a maximum of 2 marks.

Skill Test for Para Pump Operator

Candidates may be assessed on the following skills:

• Repairing pumps and identifying technical faults.
• Replacing defective pump components.
• Checking test pressure and leakage.
• Installing pumps and connecting motors.
• Basic motor alignment and use of tools.
• Identifying electrical and motor-related faults.
• Maintaining lubrication and cooling systems.
• Operating pump control mechanisms and regulating valves.

Skill Test for Para Fitter

The skill test may include:

• Repairing water supply pipelines.
• Identifying and repairing leakage.
• Installing new pipeline connections.
• Understanding pipe sizes and fittings.
• Threading pipes using ratchet and die sets.
• Maintaining village water supply infrastructure.
• Operating pipe-fitting tools.
• Handling complaints and resolving water distribution-related issues.
