CRPF Sports Quota Recruitment 2026: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) under the Ministry of Home Affairs has released the official notification for CRPF Sports Quota Recruitment 2026. The CRPF invites online applications from eligible male and female meritorious sportspersons for recruitment to Head Constable (General Duty) and Constable (General Duty) posts under the Sports Quota. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must satisfy the prescribed age limit, educational qualification, sports qualification and physical standards.

Age Limit

For both Head Constable GD and Constable GD, the prescribed age is:

18 to 23 years as on 1 August 2026.

The eligibility table states that candidates should generally have been born between 2 August 2003 and 1 August 2008, subject to applicable age relaxation.

Educational Qualification

Head Constable (GD): Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board/University or possess the prescribed equivalent Army qualification in the case of ex-Army personnel. The qualification must be possessed by the closing date of application.

Constable (GD): Candidates must have passed Matriculation/10th or equivalent from a recognized board.

Sports Qualification for Head Constable GD

For Head Constable GD, eligible achievements include, among others:

• Representing India in recognized international competitions/meets with the required clearance.
• Representing a State/UT in National Games or National Championships and securing a medal/position up to third place.
• Securing first or second position in individual events at Inter-University tournaments; prescribed conditions also apply to team events.
• Winning Gold or Silver medals in Junior National-level Games/Championships/Meets recognized by the relevant sports authorities.

Sports Qualification for Constable GD

For Constable GD, eligible achievements include participation/achievement at prescribed levels such as:

• Senior or Junior National Games/Championships representing a State.
• National School Games with a medal or position up to third place.
• Khelo India University Games, Youth Games or Winter Games with a medal/position up to third place.
• Inter-University tournaments representing the candidate’s university.

The notification further states that the relevant sports achievement/certificate should be from the last two years from the publication of the recruitment advertisement.

Age Relaxation

The notification provides relaxation for meritorious sportspersons as follows:

Candidates claiming relaxation must produce the prescribed certificates from the competent authority.

Application Fee

• The application fee is: ₹100
• The fee applies to male candidates belonging to UR, OBC and EWS categories.
• The following candidates are exempted from paying the application fee:
• Female candidates, SC candidates, ST candidates and Ex-Servicemen.

Physical Standards

Height

The notification contains additional category-specific relaxations.

Chest

For male candidates, the normal chest requirement is:

Unexpanded: 80 cm
Minimum Expansion: 5 cm

Relaxed chest standards are available for specified categories, including ST candidates and candidates from Assam and certain other states/categories.

Weight should be proportionate to height and age according to the prescribed medical standards.

Medical Standards

Candidates shortlisted for recruitment will undergo medical examination by CRPF Medical Boards.

• Colour-blind candidates are not eligible

Selection Process

The selection process includes:

5. Detailed Medical Examination
6. Review Medical Examination, wherever applicable

The notification specifies that players with qualifying sports achievements during the period 30 September 2024 to 30 September 2026 will be considered under the prescribed conditions.

Salary

Selected candidates will receive salary under the 7th Central Pay Commission.

In addition to basic pay, eligible personnel will receive Dearness Allowance, HRA and other allowances as admissible under Government/CRPF rules.
