UIIC AO Recruitment 2026 notification has been released by United India Insurance Company Limited (UIIC) for the recruitment of 225 Administrative Officer (Scale-I) posts. The vacancies include 200 Administrative Officer – Generalist posts and 25 Administrative Officer – Hindi Officer posts.

A total of 225 provisional vacancies have been announced under the UIIC Administrative Officer Recruitment 2026. Of these, 200 vacancies are for Generalists and 25 vacancies are for Hindi Officers.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must satisfy the prescribed educational qualification, age limit and other eligibility requirements as on 30 June 2026.

Educational Qualification for Generalists:

Candidates applying for Administrative Officer – Generalist should possess:

  • Graduate Degree or Post Graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Eligible disciplines include Engineering, Arts, Science, Commerce, Agriculture, Data Science and others.
  • Minimum 60% marks in either the Graduate or Post Graduate degree examination.
  • Minimum 55% marks for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

Working knowledge of computers is compulsory.

Educational Qualification for Hindi Officer:

Candidates should possess one of the following qualifications with 60% marks, or 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates:

  • Master’s Degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory/elective subject or medium at degree level; or
  • Master’s Degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or medium at degree level; or
  • Master’s Degree in another subject with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory/elective subject or medium at degree level; or
  • Master’s Degree in another subject with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or medium at degree level; or
  • Master’s Degree in another subject with Hindi and English as compulsory/elective subjects, subject to the conditions prescribed in the notification.

The required qualification must have been completed on or before 30 June 2026. Candidates whose qualifying examination results were declared after this date are not eligible.


Age Limit:

The age limit as on 30 June 2026 is:

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 30 years

Candidates should have been born not earlier than 30 June 1996 and not later than 30 June 2005, with both dates inclusive.

Selection Process:

The selection process consists of:

Generalist Main Exam Pattern:

The Generalist Main Examination consists of an Objective Test carrying 250 marks followed by a 30-mark Descriptive Test.

The Descriptive Test is for 30 marks and 30 minutes, comprising:

  • Letter Writing – 10 marks
  • Essay – 20 marks

For Generalists, the final merit list uses the Main Objective Test and Interview marks in the ratio of 75:25. Preliminary and Descriptive Test marks are not counted in the final merit list, though qualifying requirements apply.

Hindi Officer Main Exam Pattern:

The Hindi Officer Main Examination consists of a 200-mark Objective Test and a 50-mark Descriptive Test.

The Objective Test includes:

  • English Language
  • Reasoning
  • Professional Knowledge
  • General Awareness
  • Computer Knowledge

The Professional Knowledge section covers areas such as Hindi and English grammar/vocabulary, Official Language Act/Rules and translation between English and Hindi.

The Hindi Officer Descriptive Test carries 50 marks and includes:

  • English Essay – 10 marks
  • Hindi Essay – 10 marks
  • Hindi Letter Writing – 10 marks
  • English to Hindi Translation – 10 marks
  • Hindi to English Translation – 10 marks

Negative Marking

There will be negative marking in both the Preliminary and Main objective examinations.

For every incorrect answer, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. There is no penalty for unanswered questions.


Salary:

Selected Administrative Officers will receive basic pay in the scale: ₹82,485 – 4,050(14) – ₹1,39,185 – 4,390(4) – ₹1,56,745

The approximate gross salary at Metropolitan centres is ₹1,10,000 per month.

Probation Period

Selected candidates may be appointed as Administrative Officer (Scale-I) on one-year probation, which may be extended at the discretion of UIIC.

During probation, officers are required to pass the non-life Licentiate Examination conducted by the Insurance Institute of India before confirmation.

Service Bond

Selected candidates have to undertake to serve UIIC for a minimum period of five years, including the probation period.

Candidates leaving before completion of the bond period may have to pay liquidated damages as prescribed in the notification, subject to a maximum equivalent to one year’s gross salary, along with ₹35,000 towards onboarding and integration cost.

  14. Download and print the submitted application form and e-receipt for future reference.

Handwritten Declaration

Candidates must upload a handwritten declaration in English, written by the candidate in black ink on white paper. The exact declaration text is provided in the official notification and should be reproduced without alteration.
