JKSSB Class IV Recruitment 2026: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released Advertisement Notification No. 09 of 2026, dated 1 September 2026, inviting online applications for 2,863 Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker vacancies across various departments of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. The vacancies are distributed across UT, Divisional and District cadres.

Eligible candidates can submit their online applications from 5 October 2026, and the last date to apply is 3 November 2026.

Educational Qualification 2026

The required educational qualification differs between Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker posts.

Class-IV (MTS)

Candidates must have:

• Minimum Qualification: Matric/10th Pass
• Maximum Qualification: 10+2

Therefore, the prescribed qualification range for Class-IV (MTS) direct recruitment is Matric to 10+2.

Sanitation Worker

Candidates must have:

• Minimum Qualification: 8th Pass
• Maximum Qualification: 10+2

The notification specifically prescribes 8th Pass as the minimum and 10+2 as the maximum qualification for Sanitation Worker posts.

Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualification on or before the application cut-off date.

Age Limit:

The age requirement is calculated as on 01 January 2026.

For OM candidates, the notification specifies that candidates should not have been born before 01 January 1986 or after 01 January 2008. For SC, ST-1, ST-2, RBA, ALC/IB and EWS categories, the maximum age is 43 years.

OBC candidates also have a maximum age limit of 43 years, while the notification specifies 42 years for physically challenged persons. Special provisions apply to Ex-Servicemen.

Domicile Requirement

Only candidates who are domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir can apply for the advertised posts.

Applicants must possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format on or before the cut-off date, i.e. 3 November 2026, unless the date is officially extended.

Application Fee:

The application fee can be paid online only through Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card. The notification states that fees once paid will not normally be refunded or adjusted against another examination or selection.

Salary:

Candidates appointed to Class-IV (MTS)/Sanitation Worker posts will receive salary under: Pay Scale: SL1 – ₹14,800 to ₹47,100

Selection Process:

Selection will be based on the written examination plus applicable additional weightage, depending on whether the vacancy belongs to UT, Divisional or District Cadre.

Exam Pattern

• The recruitment examination will consist of objective-type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Questions will be set in English only.
• There will also be negative marking of one-fourth (1/4) of the marks assigned to a question for each wrong answer.
• JKSSB will publish the detailed syllabus separately on its official website.

Document Verification

• Candidates shortlisted for Document Verification will have to produce their original documents along with the required self-attested photocopies. Important documents include educational qualification certificates, domicile certificate, category certificate where applicable, birth/age proof, valid photo ID and other post-specific documents.
• Candidates must possess the required academic qualifications and legally valid supporting documents on or before the application cut-off date.

How to Apply:

Eligible candidates must submit their applications online only. JKSSB has stated that detailed instructions for filling the online form, including the exact application portal, will be published separately on the official Board website. No other mode of application will be accepted.

1. Visit the official JKSSB website: www.jkssb.nic.in.
2. Open the online application link for Advertisement Notification No. 09 of 2026 once it becomes active.
3. Complete the required registration and fill in the online application form carefully with your personal, educational, domicile, category and other required details.
4. Select the post/item number and applicable cadre/department preferences carefully. Once submitted, requests for correction or change in the application particulars will not be entertained.
5. Upload the required live photograph and signature. The notification specifies a signature file size of 10 KB to 20 KB.
6. Pay the prescribed application fee online. The fee is ₹600 for general/other candidates and ₹500 for SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS and PwBD candidates. Payment can be made through Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card.
7. Review all the entered information carefully and submit the application form.
8. After successful submission, download and print the application form. Candidates must produce the printout at the time of Document Verification; hard copies should not be sent to the JKSSB office by post, email or in person.
