  • Minimum Marks: CA/CMA – Minimum 50% marks in CA/CMA AND Minimum 65% marks for UR/OBCNC/EWS and 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates in Graduation. All other positions – Minimum 65% marks for UR/OBCNC/EWS and 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
  • All qualifications must be full-time regular courses from an AICTE-approved / UGC recognized University / Deemed University.

Age Limit:

  • Junior Executive (All Freshers Posts – 2.1 to 2.8): Maximum Age – 25 Years
  • Engineer Posts (2.9 to 2.12): Maximum Age – 25 Years
  • Officer – Finance / HR / IS (2.13 to 2.17): Maximum Age – 25 to 27 Years (varies by post)
  • Experienced Professionals (3.1 to 3.29): Maximum age varies from 26 to 47 years, depending on the position and the number of completed years of experience, as per the table in the notification.
  • FTC – Senior Cyber Security Strategist & Advisor (4.1): Maximum Age – 39 to 45 Years (depending on experience)
  • Age Relaxation:
    • SC / ST candidates: 5 years relaxation
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: 3 years relaxation
    • PwBD (UR): 10 years relaxation
    • PwBD (OBCNC): 13 years relaxation
    • PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years relaxation
    • Candidates domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between 01.01.1980 and 31.12.1989: 5 years relaxation
    • Ex-Servicemen & Commissioned Officers: 5 years relaxation (subject to conditions)
    • The maximum upper age of applicants shall not exceed 56 years, including all possible age relaxations.

Application Fee:

  • UR / OBCNC / EWS Candidates: Rs. 1180/- (Application Fee of Rs. 1000/- + GST @18% i.e. Rs. 180/-) + Payment Gateway Charges, if any. Non-Refundable.
  • SC / ST / PwBD Candidates: Exempted from payment of application fee.
  • Payment Mode: Debit Card / Credit Card / UPI / Net Banking (Online only).
  • On successful payment, the status will change to “Your Transaction is completed”.
  • Candidates must ensure payment status is “Completed”.
  • The application fee, once paid, will not be refunded under any circumstances.
  • No other mode of payment than those mentioned above will be accepted.

Selection Process:

  • The selection process may comprise various shortlisting and selection tools such as Computer-Based Test (CBT) / Written Test / Typing Test, Group Task, Psychometric Assessment, Skill Test, Moot Court, Personal/Technical Interview, Physical Fitness Efficiency Test (if applicable), etc., depending upon the position requirement.
  • Computer-Based Test (CBT): Consists of objective questions (subjective as well for Legal HR Officers) and comprises two parts:
    • Part I – General Aptitude: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude Test & Intellectual Potential Test (Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation).
    • Part II – Technical / Professional Knowledge: Questions related to the qualifying degree / educational background required for the applied position.
  • CBT will be conducted tentatively on 3rd May 2026. HPCL reserves the right to reschedule the date of CBT.
  • Questions will be based on the syllabus hosted on the Careers Page on the corporate website (indicative, not exhaustive).
  • Candidates qualifying in CBT, in order of merit and predetermined ratio, will be advised to upload supporting documents for certain positions.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Group Task and/or Personal Interview based on scrutiny of the application, uploaded documents, and the merit list.
  • Candidates’ document verification shall be conducted before Personal Interviews.
  • Candidates may be required to undergo Psychometric Assessments before/after the Group Task/Personal Interview.
  • Candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks in each applicable selection stage (CBT, Group Task, and Personal Interview) to be considered for further selection.
  • A category and discipline-wise merit list will be drawn for all candidates who qualify in all applicable stages.
  • The selected candidates would be required to join HPCL as per the date of joining mentioned in the Offer of Appointment.
