Educational Qualification 2026
The required educational qualification differs between Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker posts.
Class-IV (MTS)
Candidates must have:
- Minimum Qualification: Matric/10th Pass
- Maximum Qualification: 10+2
Therefore, the prescribed qualification range for Class-IV (MTS) direct recruitment is Matric to 10+2.
Sanitation Worker
Candidates must have:
- Minimum Qualification: 8th Pass
- Maximum Qualification: 10+2
The notification specifically prescribes 8th Pass as the minimum and 10+2 as the maximum qualification for Sanitation Worker posts.
Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualification on or before the application cut-off date.
Age Limit:
The age requirement is calculated as on 01 January 2026.

Domicile Requirement

Exam Pattern
- The recruitment examination will consist of objective-type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Questions will be set in English only.
- There will also be negative marking of one-fourth (1/4) of the marks assigned to a question for each wrong answer.
- JKSSB will publish the detailed syllabus separately on its official website.
Document Verification
- Candidates shortlisted for Document Verification will have to produce their original documents along with the required self-attested photocopies. Important documents include educational qualification certificates, domicile certificate, category certificate where applicable, birth/age proof, valid photo ID and other post-specific documents.
- Candidates must possess the required academic qualifications and legally valid supporting documents on or before the application cut-off date.
