PBTI Recruitment 2026 – Overview

Vacancy Details

Punjab Biotechnology Incubator has announced 8 vacancies across three different projects. The post-wise vacancy distribution is given below.

Note: The recruitment includes vacancies under the UR (Unreserved) and SCW (Scheduled Caste Woman) categories. The number of vacancies may be increased or decreased as decided by PBTI.

Project Details

The vacancies are distributed across the following three projects:

1. Punjab Life Sciences Up-Skilling (PLUS) Program.
2. Advisory Services for Establishment of Laboratories at Punjab Water Supply & Sewerage Board.
3. Advisory Services for Establishment of Pesticide Residue Testing Lab for the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Punjab.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfil the educational qualification and experience requirements specified for the respective posts.

1. Principal Project Associate

• Master’s Degree in Basic/Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences or Food Sciences; OR
• B.Tech or equivalent in Biotechnology, Food Technology or Dairy Technology; OR
• B.Pharma from a recognised university or institute.
• Minimum 60% aggregate marks.
• At least 5 years of experience in scientific activities or services in industry, academia, research organisations or other scientific bodies.
• Good knowledge of MS Office and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Desirable Qualification: Experience in human resource development, skilling, training programmes or IEC activities. A degree or diploma in Business Administration is desirable.

2. Project Associate-II

• Master’s Degree in Basic/Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences or Food Sciences; OR
• B.Tech or equivalent in Biotechnology, Food Technology or Dairy Technology; OR
• B.Pharma from a recognised university or institute.
• Minimum 60% aggregate marks.
• At least 2 years of experience in scientific activities or services in industry, academia, research organisations or other scientific bodies.
• Good knowledge of MS Office and excellent communication skills.

Desirable Qualification: Experience in HR development, skill development, training programmes, IEC activities or a degree/diploma in Business Administration.

3. Technical Assistant

• Graduation in Science from a recognised university.
• Minimum 50% aggregate marks.

Desirable Qualification:

• Experience in coordinating or executing skilling and training programmes.
• Minimum 2-month computer course in MS Office.
• Knowledge of creative online tools such as Canva.

4. Project Associate

Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications:

• Ph.D. with research in the relevant area; OR
• First-class M.Tech or equivalent in Biotechnology, Food Technology or Dairy Technology, or first-class M.Pharma with at least 2 years of relevant analytical experience after the essential qualification; OR
• First-class Master’s Degree in Basic, Chemical, Life, Environmental or Food Sciences with at least 3 years of relevant analytical experience after the essential qualification.

Experience in national or international testing and certification laboratories and knowledge of laboratory quality management systems are desirable.

5. Project Fellow

Candidates must fulfil any one of the following requirements:

• First-class M.Tech or equivalent in Biotechnology, Food Technology or Dairy Technology, or first-class M.Pharma with at least 1 year of relevant analytical experience; OR
• First-class Master’s Degree in Basic, Chemical, Life, Environmental or Food Sciences; OR
• First-class B.Tech or equivalent in Biotechnology, Food Technology or Dairy Technology; OR
• First-class B.Pharma with at least 2 years of relevant analytical experience.

Experience in testing and certification laboratories and knowledge of laboratory quality management systems are desirable.

6. Project Assistant

Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications:

• First-class Master’s Degree in Basic, Chemical, Life, Environmental or Food Sciences; OR
• First-class B.Tech or equivalent in Biotechnology, Food Technology or Dairy Technology; OR
• First-class B.Pharma from a recognised university or institute.

Experience in testing and certification laboratories and knowledge of laboratory quality management systems are desirable.

Age Limit

The post-wise maximum age requirements are given below.

Salary

Selected candidates will receive fixed monthly remuneration according to the post.

The appointments are purely contractual for one year or the project duration, whichever is earlier. The engagement may be extended depending on project requirements.

Selection Process
