SSC CPO Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 1871 Sub-Inspector Posts in Delhi Police, CAPFs & CISF

SSC CPO Recruitment 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2026. Through SSC CPO Recruitment 2026, a total of 1871 tentative vacancies are available for Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police, Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs, and Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF. The online application process started on 10 September 2026 and will continue till 30 September 2026.

Eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the official SSC website at ssc.gov.in. Vacancy Details:

SSC has announced 1871 tentative vacancies under this recruitment examination.

Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police:

The male Delhi Police vacancies include open and Ex-Servicemen vacancies, while 112 vacancies have been notified for female candidates.

Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs:

Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF:

Educational Qualification:

SI in Delhi Police and SI (GD) in CAPFs

Candidates must possess:

Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.

Candidates who have appeared in their Bachelor’s degree/equivalent examination may also apply, but they must possess the required qualification on or before the closing date of applications.

SI (Fire) in CISF

Candidates must possess either:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized university or equivalent; OR
• Matriculation/equivalent with a three-year Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Automobile, Chemical, Mining, Aeronautical or Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent.

Relevant B.Tech/M. Tech qualifications may be considered as value addition subject to possession of the required basic qualification where applicable.

Driving Licence for Delhi Police Male Candidates

Male candidates applying for SI (Executive) in Delhi Police must possess a valid LMV Driving Licence for Motorcycle and Car on the date fixed for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Test.

Male candidates without the required driving licence may still be considered for SI in CAPFs, subject to other eligibility conditions.

Age Limit:

Age will be calculated as on 1 August 2026.

For SI in Delhi Police and SI (GD) in CAPFs

• Minimum Age: 20 Years
• Maximum Age: 25 Years
• Candidate must have been born between 2 August 2001 and 1 August 2006, both dates inclusive.

For SI (Fire) in CISF

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 30 Years
• Candidate must have been born between 2 August 1996 and 1 August 2008, both dates inclusive.

Age Relaxation

Departmental candidates of Delhi Police must have rendered at least three years of regular and continuous service by the closing date to claim the applicable departmental age relaxation.

Application Fee:

The application fee for SSC CPO Examination 2026 is:

• General/OBC/EWS: ₹100
• Women Candidates: Nil
• SC Candidates: Nil
• ST Candidates: Nil
• Eligible Ex-Servicemen: Nil

Payment can be made online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, MasterCard, Maestro or RuPay Debit Card.

Selection Process:

Candidates will be selected through the following stages:

1. Paper-I Computer-Based Examination
2. Physical Standard Test (PST) / Physical Endurance Test (PET)
3. Paper-II Computer-Based Examination
4. Detailed Medical Examination (DME) / Review Medical Examination
5. Document Verification
6. Final Selection

PST/PET and medical examination are qualifying in nature. Final selection and allocation of Post/Force will be based primarily on the candidate’s Paper-II performance, including applicable NCC bonus marks, and post/force preference.

Exam Pattern 2026:

Paper-I

Duration: 1 Hour, with a sectional timer of 15 minutes for each part.

Paper-II

Paper-II uses sectional timing as specified in the official notification. Questions in both papers are objective multiple-choice questions.

Negative Marking

• Paper-I: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
• Paper-II: 0.50 marks deducted for each wrong answer.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

These qualifying percentages apply to Paper-I and Paper-II before adding applicable NCC bonus marks.

SSC CPO Physical Endurance Test (PET):

Male Candidates:

Female Candidates:

PET/PST does not carry marks and is qualifying/elimination in nature. Ex-Servicemen are exempt from PET but must meet applicable physical and medical standards.

Medical Standards:

Candidates qualifying Paper-II will undergo the prescribed medical examination.

Important standards include:

• Minimum near vision: N6 better eye and N9 worse eye
• Minimum distant vision: 6/6 better eye and 6/9 worse eye
• Required vision must be achieved without correction such as glasses or surgery as specified in the notice.
• Candidates should not have knock-knees, flat feet, varicose veins or squint.
• Candidates should possess high colour vision and be in good mental and bodily health.

Exam Centres in Assam:

Under the SSC North Eastern Region, examination centres listed in Assam include:

• Dibrugarh – 5102
• Guwahati (Dispur) – 5105
• Jorhat – 5107
• Silchar – 5111

Other NER centres include Itanagar, Imphal, Churachandpur, Shillong, Aizawl, Dimapur, Kohima and Agartala.

Candidates can give preference to three examination centres within the same SSC region, in order of priority.

How to Apply:

Candidates can apply online by following these steps:

1. Visit the official SSC website at ssc.gov.in.
2. Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website if not already registered.
3. Log in using the registration credentials.
4. Select Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPFs Examination, 2026.
5. Enter all required personal, educational and category details.
6. Complete the real-time photograph process as instructed.
7. Upload the required signature.
8. Select examination centre preferences.
9. Pay the application fee, if applicable.
10. Preview all details carefully and submit the application.
11. Save or print the submitted application form for future reference.

SSC has clarified that OTR created on the old ssc.nic.in website will not work on the new website. Applications may be submitted through ssc.gov.in or the mySSC mobile application.

The last date for submission of the online application is 30 September 2026 at 11:00 PM.

Application Correction Window:

SSC will provide an application correction window from 8 October to 10 October 2026.

Candidates can submit a corrected application a maximum of two times. The correction charges are:

• First correction and resubmission: ₹200
• Second correction and resubmission: ₹500

The correction fee is applicable to all candidates irrespective of category or gender.
