The Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) has released the official notification for CGPSC Psychiatrist Recruitment 2026 under the Department of Public Health and Family Welfare. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online from 21 July 2026 to 19 August 2026 through the official CGPSC website.

This recruitment drive is being conducted to fill 6 backlog vacancies for the post of Psychiatrist (Manorog Visheshagya). Candidates possessing a postgraduate degree in Psychiatry and valid Medical Council registration are eligible to apply.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess:

• Postgraduate Degree/Diploma in Psychiatry from a recognized university.
• Qualification recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) (formerly Medical Council of India).
• Valid registration with:
  • National Medical Commission (NMC), or
  • Any State Medical Council.

Age Limit (As of 01 January 2026)

• Minimum Age: 25 Years
• Maximum Age: 35 Years

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation is applicable as per Chhattisgarh Government rules.

• Residents of Chhattisgarh: Up to 40 years
• SC/ST/OBC candidates
• Women candidates
• Ex-servicemen
• Persons with Disabilities
• Government employees
• Other reserved categories as per the official notification.

Maximum age after all applicable relaxations shall generally not exceed 45 years.

Candidates who are residents of Chhattisgarh and appear in the examination/interview will receive a refund of the examination fee as per CGPSC rules.

Selection Process

Depending on the number of applications received, selection may be made through:

• Written Examination + Interview, or
• Direct Interview

If a written examination is conducted:

• The Commission may also conduct a Computer-Based Test (CBT) if required.
